Better than the wheel

Way better than the big wheel down by the pier, the views are wider and you don't get that tiny cramped cabin feeling. Booked on my phone in like a minute. Lift was quick and the staff were sound.

booking was a faff

I had to book the tickets online for a group of six and the process took rather longer than I would have liked, with the payment page timing out twice. Once I had the confirmation the staff at the entrance were very courteous and the lift ride was smooth. Still, the booking part did leave me rather exasperated.

First time up, glad we went

Didn't realise the lift up was so smooth and quiet, you barely notice you're going up at all. We went in the early afternoon with my two kids and they loved spotting the landmarks, the staff were patient with the little one and let us stay at the window longer than the queue would normally allow. Tickets were easy to get on the site and we got through the entrance without much waiting.

Lovely first visit

Really lovely first visit, would definitely come back. Booked online, the ticket came through by email and the lift ride was smooth. Staff pointed out the landmarks without being pushy.

Wanted something for my dad

My dad turned seventy and he wanted a view of the city he grew up in, so I booked this for us. Booking was quick on the site and the confirmation came through straight away. The lift was smooth and he loved it.

Nicer than the cathedral tower

I have climbed the cathedral tower here before and this was a far more comfortable way to see the city, though I would not say it was dramatically better. The booking was quite straightforward on the site and the staff were very pleasant at the top. The lift was a little slow to fill but otherwise I enjoyed the visit.

The glass floor was a surprise

The glass floor section was the bit I didn't expect, honestly quite a rush standing on it. Booked on the app and it scanned fine at the entrance. Staff were friendly and the lift was packed but moved along.

not the best value

Thought the price was on the high side for what you get, given the short time you spend up there. The staff were polite and the lift was comfortable enough, though I had hoped for a bit more to see. It was an acceptable outing, but I would probably look elsewhere next time.

Decent value for the money

Paid for the standard adult ticket on the site, which came in cheaper than I expected for a city attraction. Confirmation email arrived quickly and the entry queue was short. The only small thing was that the gift shop by the exit was pricey.

Needed something to do on a rainy day

We were stuck in town on a rainy Saturday with nothing planned and this was the first thing that came up. Got the tickets on my phone, no faff at the door, and the lift was packed but moved quick. Honestly a great shout for a random afternoon out.

the views are mental

The views over the city at night are honestly mental, didn't expect it to be that good. Booked on the site in about two minutes, lift up was quick and the staff were chill about us taking loads of photos. Would go back with mates, easy.

best time to go is just before sunset

Went up about half an hour before sunset and the timing was spot on, the light across the river was excellent. I've been on a few of these city observation decks and this one is laid out better than most. The only thing that let it down was the queue for the second lift, which took a while to clear.

not as good as the london wheel

I did think the view would match the London Eye, which I had been up before, but it was a good deal smaller and the sightlines were a bit blocked by the glass. The staff were very polite and the lift was clean, though I did find the booking page rather fiddly to navigate.

Great views and friendly staff

You get proper views of the whole city from up there and the staff know their stuff. Booked well in advance and the tickets were easy to pull up on my phone. Would happily take visitors up again.

two adult tickets, sorted

Bought two adult tickets for the evening slot for my wife's birthday. Price was lower than the other tourist spots I'd checked and the booking confirmation came straight away. Got exactly what we paid for, nothing extra to pay at the desk, which I appreciated.

fine for a one off

We have been coming back to this place on and off for a few years now and it is fine. The lifts are reliable and the views are as good as they ever were. However the prices seem to have crept up and the cafe queue at the top was very slow on our last visit, which was a shame.

needed a quick evening thing

Needed something quick to do after work before meeting friends. Booked the ticket the same afternoon and it was easy. The lift was a bit slow to fill but fine.

The audio guide was helpful

I took the audio guide with my ticket, which I thought was a sensible extra for a first visit. It explained the buildings below clearly and the headset worked from the start. The one thing I would mention is that the seating area was rather cramped when the deck was busy, though I did manage to find a spot near the window in the end.

The same as last time

Needed a treat for my sister who is visiting from Scotland and I have been up here before so knew what to expect. Booked online the day before, confirmation came straight through, and the lift and staff were just as friendly as on my last visit. A lovely afternoon.

cheaper than the others

Compared to the other big attractions round here this was clearly the better value, and it is only a short walk from the station. Paid for the standard ticket online and got a little discount. Lift was quick and the view was just as good for less money.
