Still the best place to stay in town

Best place to stay in London as far as I'm concerned, and I've been coming for over twenty years. The rooms have been kept up nicely and the staff remember us. Nothing else to add really.

needed somewhere near the hospital

My dad was having tests at the hospital nearby and we needed somewhere close that wasn't miles from the wards. Looked at a couple of places near the station but this was the closest. Booking was simple. Only niggle was the room was a bit warm and the air con took a while to cool it down, but otherwise fine.

Better than my usual chain

Compared to the Premier Inn I usually use, this felt a lot more like a proper hotel. The room was bigger and the staff were friendly when I arrived late. First time here and I'll be back.

compared to other hotels on the river

I know the riverside hotels pretty well from years of business trips, and this one sits comfortably at the nicer end compared to the others I've used. The rooms are well laid out and the bed was excellent. The only niggle was the wifi dropped a few times on the top floor, but the desk sorted it quickly.

better value than the other places i looked at

I compared this against two other hotels near the station and this came out better value for what you get. The room was bigger than I expected and the breakfast was filling without costing the earth. The lift is a bit slow at peak times but otherwise it's a good, solid place to stay for the money.

sorted, would stay again

Yeah it's a good hotel, room was clean and the shower was decent. Booked it on my phone in like five minutes and the confirmation came straight away. Bed was comfy enough, slept well after a long day out.

Lovely stay, very well looked after

This was our first stay here and it was a proper treat. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm and helpful, and the room had everything we needed. We'll definitely be back for another anniversary.

Needed a quiet place for a work trip

I needed somewhere quiet and central for a work trip, so I compared a few hotels before booking here. The room was calm and the desk was a good size for working on my laptop. Breakfast was early enough for my meetings, which helped a lot.

Needed a place for a gig

Needed somewhere in walking distance of the venue for a gig and this was the nearest decent one. Booked on the site the night before, no fuss. Room was small but it was just for sleeping. Lift was slow at checkout time though.

Lovely hotel for the weekend away

We needed somewhere central in London for my mum's 70th and had looked at about four other hotels before settling on this one. The room was clean and quiet even though we were right by the street, and the staff went out of their way to sort out a late check in for us without any fuss. Breakfast was good too, we'd happily stay again.

nice but pricier than the chains

I'd normally book a Premier Inn or similar for a city break, so this was my first time here and I was surprised how much more it cost for a similar sized room. The room itself was lovely, big bed, nice bathroom and the view was a nice touch. The booking page was a bit fiddly too, I had to go back twice to sort out my dates before it would let me pay.

Booked the same room again

We've stayed in the same room every year for our anniversary and I booked the usual one online again this time. Check in was easy and the room was just how we like it, with the view over the park. The bed is still the most comfortable we've slept in.

Booking the room took too long

The room we booked on the site was just the one we wanted, with a nice view over the square. The trouble started when we tried to add breakfast, as the page kept timing out and I had to ring the hotel to sort it. Once everything was confirmed the stay itself was fine, but I'd have liked the booking to be smoother.

still good but not what it was

Been coming here for years and it's still a nice place to stay, the rooms are comfortable and the location can't be beaten. Last visit the lift was out for most of the stay and the front desk seemed stretched, which wasn't like them before. Would still come back but I'd hope they sort it.

The room with the balcony

We'd looked at a few options for a birthday weekend and picked the room with the little balcony. It was just as lovely in person, with a proper view over the square. Staff were attentive and the room was spotless. Really glad we chose it.

proper hotel not a chain

Stayed here for a conference and knew the area well from years of working around the river. The room was quiet on the courtyard side and the aircon actually worked, which I can't say for most places at this price. Staff sorted a late checkout when I asked without any fuss. Booking was a doddle through the site, confirmation came straight away and the room matched the photos.

checked the rates on three sites

Checked the rates on three sites and the direct booking came out cheapest for the dates we wanted. The thing that mattered most to me was the cancellation terms being clear on the page. Stayed two nights for a funeral in the area, room was quiet and the staff were patient with us.

direct booking was the cheapest

Booked the room straight through their own site rather than a comparison site and it came out a fair bit less than the two aggregators I checked first. Breakfast was extra which annoyed me a bit, but the room was big enough for two and the bed was good. Check-in was quick and the card payment went through first time. Good value for a central London weekend, and I'd book the same way again.

Nice room, bit of a wait at reception

I'd compared a few hotels in the area and the price here was one of the better ones. What stood out most was how grand the lobby is, it's a lovely building. Check in took a while as there was only one person on the desk, but once we were up the room was fine.

Booked the room on the app

Booked a room through the app for a night in town, took about two minutes. Check in was quick, room was spot on and the bed was comfy. Would use again.
