I compared a few options before booking for our anniversary and went with ONYX in the end. The other places were either much dearer or had reviews that didn't match the listings. The house in Whitby was exactly as described, with sea views from the bedroom and a proper wood burner downstairs. Check-in took two minutes with the code they sent. Cosy, quiet and worth every penny for a special week away.

Way better than hotels we've stayed at for the same money. We got a whole cottage in Dorset with a hot tub and a real fire. The booking took about five minutes on my phone and the cottage looked just like the pictures. Going back next year for sure.

Looked at a few options for a week in Devon and this one was the cheapest of the three I checked. The cottage was clean and well equipped, though the sofa was past its best and the outdoor space was smaller than the photos suggested. Getting the keys sorted took a bit of back and forth by email. Fine for the money but I'd look harder next time.

The price was reasonable and we would be happy to return.

Lovely little place in the Peak District.

Booked a barn conversion in the Cotswolds mainly because of the walk in shower in the main bathroom, which is harder to find than you'd think. The shower was great, really powerful, and the bedrooms were a good size. The bit that let it down was the wifi, which kept dropping in the evenings, and it took two days of messages before anyone looked at it. Otherwise a nice break.

Easily the cheapest decent place I could find for a city break in Manchester. Booking was simple and the flat was in a handy spot near the station. The shower took a while to warm up but it was clean and the beds were comfy. Would do it again.

The price shown at checkout was the same price I paid, no extra cleaning fee tacked on at the end which I've been caught by before. Flat was clean and the bed was comfy enough for two nights in Bath. Would look at them again for a short stay, the booking took about five minutes start to finish.

Booked a flat in Edinburgh for a stag weekend and the specific one I picked was listed as available. Turned up and it had been double booked, so we ended up in a different place across town that wasn't the same standard. Support took three days to answer my messages. Would not use again.

Booked a cabin for a long weekend with my mates in the Lake District. Booking was dead easy on the app and the cabin matched the photos. Only thing was the hot tub took ages to heat up on the Friday so we had a cold first night. Still good value for a group of five though, would go again.

Compared it against two of the big booking sites before choosing and ONYX came out about a third cheaper for the same week in Cornwall. Nothing hidden in the final total either. Check-in was quick and the flat was clean.

the hot tub was the best bit tbh, we sat in it every night. the flat itself was a bit small for four of us though and the parking was a faff. still a good weekend away for the price.

Best value I found for a family week in Pembrokeshire. Four bedrooms for the price of a much smaller place elsewhere. The sofa bed was comfy and the kids had their own bathroom. Booking was quick and the host was easy to reach.

I needed somewhere in Leeds for four nights while I was working on a project and didn't want to pay hotel rates. ONYX had a studio that came in a fair bit under what the hotels were asking. The only thing was the check in instructions came through the day before rather than when I booked, which was a bit annoying. Otherwise the place was fine and the price made it worth it.
