I've been booking through ONYX for about twelve years now, mostly country cottages and the odd townhouse in Bath. The place they put us in this time was lovely, the host was on hand when the boiler played up, and the price was fair for what we got. Will be booking again for the autumn.

We needed a quiet base for a fortnight of walking in the Highlands, and ONYX had a few options that fitted. The cottage was comfortable and the views were lovely. The problem was getting the deposit confirmed, which took the best part of a week of phoning around. Once that was sorted the stay was perfectly pleasant.
The cottage in the Welsh borders had the sort of kitchen I was after, properly equipped with decent knives and a proper oven. I'd used a few lets before so I knew what to look for. Problem was I asked a question about the heating before arriving and it took them three days to reply. Not a dealbreaker but when you're travelling it's a bit much.
