I compared a few options before booking for our anniversary and went with ONYX in the end. The other places were either much dearer or had reviews that didn't match the listings. The house in Whitby was exactly as described, with sea views from the bedroom and a proper wood burner downstairs. Check-in took two minutes with the code they sent. Cosy, quiet and worth every penny for a special week away.

Way better than hotels we've stayed at for the same money. We got a whole cottage in Dorset with a hot tub and a real fire. The booking took about five minutes on my phone and the cottage looked just like the pictures. Going back next year for sure.

We needed somewhere quiet for my mum's 80th last spring, with room for everyone and a proper garden. The place they put us in this time was lovely, the host was on hand when the boiler played up, and the price was fair for what we got. Will be booking again for the autumn.

ONYX had several suitable options in the Cotswolds and I am pleased to say the one we chose was entirely satisfactory. The host was courteous and arranged for the heating to be on before we arrived. The price was reasonable and we would be happy to return.

The garden was the first thing I noticed when we arrived, big enough for the grandchildren to run about in. I've been booking holiday lets through them for years now, and they've never let me down on a stay. The parking space right by the door was handy with all our bags. Lovely little place in the Peak District.

Compared with the usual big booking sites, ONYX gave me a clearer breakdown of fees before I committed. I've been through plenty of holiday lets and know what to look for in a listing. The place in Northumberland had good heating and solid beds, and the host had left a proper welcome pack. Would book this way again.

ONYX was the one I went with for our Yorkshire trip. I looked at three other sites first and this had the clearest cancellation terms. The stay itself was spot on, warm and well kept.

Easily the cheapest decent place I could find for a city break in Manchester. Booking was simple and the flat was in a handy spot near the station. The shower took a while to warm up but it was clean and the beds were comfy. Would do it again.

The price shown at checkout was the same price I paid, no extra cleaning fee tacked on at the end which I've been caught by before. Flat was clean and the bed was comfy enough for two nights in Bath. Would look at them again for a short stay, the booking took about five minutes start to finish.

Compared it against two of the big booking sites before choosing and ONYX came out about a third cheaper for the same week in Cornwall. Nothing hidden in the final total either. Check-in was quick and the flat was clean.

Best value I found for a family week in Pembrokeshire. Four bedrooms for the price of a much smaller place elsewhere. The sofa bed was comfy and the kids had their own bathroom. Booking was quick and the host was easy to reach.
