Sound place, reasonable prices

I've been coming on and off for about fifteen years so I know the layout well. The big change lately is that the online booking now lets you pick a time slot, which cuts down the queue at the gate a lot. The reptile house has been refurbished and the lighting is better for seeing the animals. Food prices have crept up, but I still think it's fair for London and the grounds are kept spotless.

Better than the old wildlife park

Compared with the wildlife park we used to visit, this place feels much more modern and the animals seem more settled. We have been members for years now and the renewal is always simple.

A thoroughly pleasant visit

I would say this is a thoroughly pleasant way to spend a Saturday, and the grounds are very well looked after. The booking process on the site was clear and we had no difficulty at all. My wife enjoyed the gardens as much as the animals, which is quite something given how much she dislikes walking.

Better than the other zoos we looked at

Compared with the other zoo near us, this one felt far better kept and the animal enclosures were much bigger. Booking was simple and the tickets arrived by email in seconds.

Worth every penny for a family day out

I would say the zoo is a splendid day out and well worth the ticket, particularly if you go early before the crowds arrive. We booked online ahead of time which saved us queuing at the gate, and the staff on the paths were courteous and happy to point us in the right direction. The penguins were the highlight for my grandson, and we are already planning a return visit.

Been a member for years

We have held a membership for a good few years now because we visit the zoo so often, and it saves us a lot on the individual tickets. The renewal reminder came a little later than I'd have liked this time, which meant a short wait before I could renew, but once it was sorted the card and access were fine. We still go most months and the seasonal displays are always lovely.

needed a cheap day out for the kids

We needed something to do over half term that wouldn't cost a fortune, and the zoo tickets worked out a lot cheaper than a theme park for a family of four. Booking was quick on the site and the e-ticket came through straight away on my phone. We went with the zoo's membership in mind, but for a single visit the standard ticket was good value for what you get.

Needed a day out that wasn't pricey

We needed a day out for the kids during the summer holidays and wanted something that wouldn't break the bank. The zoo tickets came out better value than the other attractions we looked at, and the kids had a brilliant time seeing the big cats and reptiles. Booking on the app took a couple of minutes and the tickets were on my phone straight away, so we didn't have to print anything.

The feeding session with the keepers

We compared a few days out in London before settling on this, and the feeding session with the keepers was the thing that tipped it for us. The keeper explained each animal's diet and answered every question the kids threw at them. The booking was quick, the tickets came through by email, and the whole visit ran to time.

Great visit, bit of a wait at the gate

We bought our tickets online a few days before and the confirmation came through without any trouble. The animals and enclosures are well worth seeing and the staff were friendly. The only niggle was that the queue at the entrance was longer than we expected on a busy Sunday, though it moved quickly once we got going.

the family ticket was a good deal

We chose the family ticket after looking at a few other attractions nearby, and the zoo came out ahead on value. The booking went through smoothly and the confirmation email had everything we needed for the day. The animals were well kept and there was plenty to keep the grandchildren busy.

first trip and loved it

We'd never been before and I wasn't sure what to expect, but the map on the app made it dead easy to plan our route. The meerkats were the highlight for my daughter, she sat watching them for ages. Staff near the enclosures were happy to answer questions and didn't rush us.

the membership card has been a joy

We bought the annual membership card last spring and it has been well used since. It gets us in without fuss and the little guide that came with it was very helpful for planning our visits.

Needed something for my visiting grandchildren

My grandchildren were staying with us and I wanted an outing that would keep them entertained for the day. The zoo was a sensible choice, with plenty to see and the paths were easy to manage with the pushchair. Booking was straightforward and I was grateful the tickets arrived promptly by email.

The gorilla house was the highlight

We went to see the gorillas and the viewing area was far better than I expected, with plenty of glass and room to stand. The information boards were clear and well laid out, and the staff were polite when we had questions about the enclosures. It was a pleasant way to spend the afternoon and the kids were engrossed throughout.

tickets were cheaper booking direct

Booked the family tickets direct on the site rather than through a deal website and it saved us a few quid, which matters when you've got three kids in tow. The confirmation came straight to my email and I just showed it on my phone at the gate, no printing needed. Good value for a full day out with the little ones.

far more relaxed than the other place

Compared with the big safari park we tried a few years ago, this zoo is far more relaxed and easier to get around on foot. We had a lovely time looking at the aquarium, and the staff were patient with my husband who uses a wheelchair. Booking the disabled access visit was made easy by the site, and the confirmation arrived quickly.

the penguins were mad

Honestly the penguins were the best bit, they were all waddling about right by the glass and my little cousin wouldn't stop pointing. Got there at 10 and it wasn't rammed yet. Would go again tbh, cheap enough for a Saturday and the café chips were decent too.

Not much better than the cheaper park

We compared this with a cheaper local farm park before going and the zoo was only a little more interesting for the price. The animals were lovely but the food at the cafe was pricey and the portions were small. Getting a refund for a changed booking was also a bit fiddly, as the form kept timing out.

Sound day out

Honestly the zoo is a sound day out, the booking was dead easy on the app and the tickets showed up instantly. Animals were chilled and the paths were fine for pushing a buggy. Would do it again.
