CoolStays

Compared to booking the same barn through a couple of other sites this one was a fair bit more expensive once the cleaning fee was added. The place itself was lovely and the host was quick to respond to my questions. I'd probably check the total before you commit though, because the headline price looks much lower than what you actually pay.

Way cheaper than going direct to the hotel site, found a cottage in the Lakes for the same dates and it was about forty quid less all in. Booked on my lunch break on my phone, confirmation came through straight away and the host messaged me the check in code the day before. Only thing I'd flag is the app kept logging me out but that didn't stop me getting the booking sorted.

We needed somewhere for my mum's birthday weekend after our usual place fell through, and this was the only site I could find with a sleeping room for her wheelchair. We've used CoolStays for a few years now. The stay itself was fine but it took two days to get a reply from the host about the step free access, which was stressful when we were trying to plan.

We chose this cottage for our wedding anniversary after looking at a few other options, and I am glad we did. The booking was straightforward and the host sent us a clear welcome note before we arrived. The beds were comfortable and the garden was tidy, and there was nothing we felt we needed to query during our stay.

We needed a quiet break after a difficult year and wanted somewhere by the coast that wasn't too busy. The booking went through without any bother. The host did take a while to confirm our late arrival time, which made me a little anxious, but all was well in the end.

I booked a cabin in Snowdonia for a weekend with friends and I looked at a few different sites first. The app made it easy to pick dates and split the cost between us. The cabin had a hot tub which was the best bit.

The biggest surprise was the cleaning fee, which was almost a third of the nightly rate and not made clear until the final screen. For a two night stay in a fairly basic flat near Leeds that felt steep. The host was polite enough and the check in was simple, but I expected more for what we paid.

I booked a flat in Edinburgh for a long weekend with my sister and it was a first for me on this site. The booking went through fine and the flat was clean. The check in instructions said the key was in a lockbox but it was a bit fiddly to find the code, so we had a few minutes standing on the doorstep.

We have had a lovely week away in a farmhouse near Hay on Wye and I would say the booking was the easiest part. The dates were confirmed promptly and the deposit was taken without any fuss. The host was helpful when we asked about parking and the property was exactly as described, so I have no complaints at all and we will certainly be using them again.
