Way cheaper than going direct to the hotel site, found a cottage in the Lakes for the same dates and it was about forty quid less all in. Booked on my lunch break on my phone, confirmation came through straight away and the host messaged me the check in code the day before. Only thing I'd flag is the app kept logging me out but that didn't stop me getting the booking sorted.
Read moreThe biggest surprise was the cleaning fee, which was almost a third of the nightly rate and not made clear until the final screen. For a two night stay in a fairly basic flat near Leeds that felt steep. The host was polite enough and the check in was simple, but I expected more for what we paid.
Read moreWe needed somewhere for my mum's birthday weekend after our usual place fell through, and this was the only site I could find with a sleeping room for her wheelchair. We've used CoolStays for a few years now. The stay itself was fine but it took two days to get a reply from the host about the step free access, which was stressful when we were trying to plan.
Read moreI booked a flat in Edinburgh for a long weekend with my sister and it was a first for me on this site. The booking went through fine and the flat was clean. The check in instructions said the key was in a lockbox but it was a bit fiddly to find the code, so we had a few minutes standing on the doorstep.

CoolStays is a holiday rental and short-break booking platform that lists self-catering properties, cottages and apartments for travellers across the United Kingdom and abroad. The site lets visitors search by destination, dates and property type, and it is operated entirely online with no physical shops. Guests book and pay through the website and receive their confirmation details by email before arriving.
Its customers are mainly families, couples and small groups looking for accommodation that offers more space and independence than a hotel room. Reviews of individual properties are a central part of the service, allowing guests to compare accommodation before booking.
