Al Maya Island and Resort

I have stayed at a few resorts on this coast so I know what to expect, and the sea view room was not quite as bright as the photos suggest, facing the service road instead. The booking itself was straightforward and the staff sorted a room change on request, though it took a while. Breakfast was good and the beach is clean. Fair enough for the money, but I would ask for a specific room next time.

My husband needs step free access and a ground floor room, so we needed to be sure the place could manage this. When we booked the site did not make the accessibility options clear and I had to phone them. The room we were given had a step at the entrance, and it took two days to get it sorted. I would not say it was a bad experience, but it was disappointing given what we asked for.

We have been booking the desert safari and the dinner package with them for about six years now, and it has been consistently good. This time the safari pickup was a little late, which was a shame, but the driver explained the traffic and the trip itself was lovely. The dinner was excellent and the staff remembered us from previous visits, which we appreciated. We have always found their prices fair for what is included.

Really good resort, staff were friendly and the beach is lovely. Booked the day trip package on the site and it was easy to sort, quick confirmation by email. Had a bit of a wait at the transfer pickup but sorted in the end.

I would say the resort is a very pleasant place to spend a few days, and the staff could not have been more helpful with our requests. We made our booking through their website without any difficulty and received a clear confirmation. The grounds are well kept and the pool area is quiet in the afternoons, which suited us well. We shall be returning.

Compared with the chain hotels on the Corniche, this was about a third cheaper for the same dates and the breakfast was included. Booking on the site took a few minutes and the confirmation came straight away. Good value for a long weekend, no complaints.

We needed somewhere close for a long weekend without spending a fortune. Found a package on the site that was cheaper than the other places we looked at. Room was fine, nothing special, but it did the job.

Way cheaper than the hotel we usually use in Dubai, and the booking was easy on my phone. Room was fine but the wifi kept dropping. Would still go back.

Booked the snorkel trip through the site on my phone, took about five minutes. The boat was fine and the guide was dead nice, saw loads of fish. Only thing was the lunch was a bit small for the price but whatever, good day out.
