Apex Hosting

We needed somewhere that could run our modded server with about forty players without falling over. I looked at three other hosts first and two of them wanted a lot more money for the same spec. This one was cheaper and the setup was simple, though the modpack install took a bit longer than the guide said and I had to message support about a Java version. Happy enough, just a few bumps at the start.

Moved over from another host and this is way quicker to get going than that one was, took about ten mins to sign up and the server was up before I'd finished my tea. Compared to my old setup the lag has gone and the chat support actually replies. Nice one, will be staying with them for sure.

Needed a server quick for our uni group and didn't want to faff about with my own PC. Picked a plan and paid on the site in about two minutes, then it was live the same evening. Ran smoothly all week, loads of us on at once and no lag, so yeah, would use again.

Upgraded my plan on the site last night to get more RAM for my mates. Went live in like five minutes, no lag so far, app works fine on my phone too.

Compared to the free host I was using before, this is miles better, no random downtime and the lag is gone. Signing up took about two minutes and my friends joined straight away. Support answered me on the chat within a few minutes which was a nice surprise, so yeah, really happy with it.

My payment took a while to show up as active, around an hour, and nobody said why. Once it was going though it's been fine, just a bit of a wait at the start.

Verdict is that the server itself runs fine for our club, and the performance has been steady since we started. Support got back to me the next morning which was fair enough, but I had hoped for something quicker given it was a weekend.

Plugin installs go through first time, and when I've needed help they've known the actual problem rather than sending me a generic answer.
