fair price for a drain job

Got a blocked drain cleared under the kitchen sink and the price was lower than the two other firms I rang for a quote. The plumber brought the camera and showed me the footage on his tablet, which I liked. Turned up when they said and cleaned up after himself. Good value for what it was.

Needed a proper heating engineer

We needed someone who could check the boiler flue after a new extension changed the airflow and the old installer had gone quiet on us. Knowing the gas safety side of things, I wanted a Gas Safe registered engineer who would actually write up the findings properly. The engineer they sent did exactly that and gave a clear report, so I'd have no problem using them again.

Booked a boiler service

I booked the annual service for our gas boiler through the website, which I found easy to follow. The engineer arrived promptly, was courteous and tidied up after himself, which I appreciated. He gave a clear account of the work and the cost, and I have no complaints at all about the visit.

Cheap and cheerful

Needed a boiler service before the landlord inspection and wanted it done without paying over the odds. Booked online in a couple of minutes and the price was what they quoted. Engineer was on time and got the job done, nothing to add really.

the speed of the callout

What stood out most was how quickly they answered the phone at half six on a Monday when the central heating had died. I've used them for about six years now, mostly for boiler services and the odd leak. Prices have crept up a bit but the engineers are always tidy and they don't push extras. Good outfit.

First booking, pretty happy

Really pleased with how the first booking went, the engineer rang ahead and was on time. Price matched what I was told, though it wasn't the cheapest I found. The sign up took a few tries because the postcode field didn't like my address at first.

A home repair cover policy

I took out their home emergency cover policy last spring after my late husband's old boiler was giving trouble. The sign up was straightforward enough, though it took longer than I'd hoped to get the paperwork through. When I did need them in the winter, the engineer came out, but the wait for the appointment was a few days longer than I'd been told. They did sort it in the end.

Compared a few before booking

We looked at a couple of other emergency plumbers before picking these lot, and they were a bit dearer on the phone. The engineer turned up within the window they gave us and the job was sorted that afternoon. Only niggle was the paperwork came through a day after.

Used them again for the boiler

I've used these lot for about six years now, so I know how they work. The engineer who came out this time was on time and knew the old system. Only gripe is the booking form still asks the same questions every time I log in.

way easier than ringing around

Booked through the app, quicker than phoning round three firms like I usually end up doing. Got a time slot and an engineer came out the next morning, fixed the leaking tap, job done. Price was shown before I confirmed.

Good engineer, pricey call out

I know this trade pretty well and the engineer knew his stuff, checked the expansion vessel and balanced the system without fuss. Booking through their site was simple enough and the appointment window was honoured. Only thing is the call out fee is higher than some of the smaller local firms I've used, so I'd check the total before you agree.

Needed a proper check

We needed someone to look at the pressure and the condensate pipe after the boiler had started cutting out every few hours. I've been in the trade long enough to know a lazy job when I see one, and this engineer went through the whole system, checked the expansion vessel and rebalanced the radiators without being asked. He explained what he'd done and what I should keep an eye on. Paid a fair rate for proper work.

quicker than the other lot

Way quicker than the last firm I tried, they had someone round the same day. Booking was dead easy on the app. Engineer was sound, a bit of a wait for the call back about the invoice but nothing major.

Booked the drain clearance

Booked a drain clearance for the bathroom sink which had been backing up for ages. The price on the booking form was the one we paid, no extras added on, and that was what I cared about. Engineer arrived in the slot and cleared it in under an hour.

Not worth the money

Honest verdict is I expected more for what we paid. The engineer came out on the day, which was good, but he only really looked at the thing that had gone wrong and didn't check anything else. The bill was higher than I'd been quoted over the phone, and getting it explained took about a week of back and forth by email before anyone would sort it out.

really pleased first time round

Honestly, I'd happily book them again. I'd never had a plumber out before so I didn't know what to expect. Booked through the site on my phone, got a text confirming a slot the next morning, and the plumber arrived in the window they gave me. He fixed a dripping tap that had been driving me mad for weeks and left the kitchen as clean as he found it. Simple process, no fuss, and the invoice was emailed straight away.

better than the other firms we looked at

We got three quotes for an emergency boiler callout and this lot came back fastest with a clear price up front. The engineer turned up within a couple of hours on a Sunday, sorted the pilot light and explained what he'd done without making us feel daft. Would use again.

the heating packed up

Our heating packed up in the middle of winter so we needed someone reliable we already knew. We have used this company for years and the booking process hasn't changed much, which suits me. The engineer arrived on time and sorted the fault quickly.

sorted but took a while

The job itself was done properly, a new thermostat and a bit of pipework, and the engineer was polite and tidy. My complaint is the scheduling. Getting a time agreed took several calls and a couple of days of back and forth, which was a real pain when I had no hot water. It was sorted in the end but I wouldn't say it was quick to get going.

First call out, didn't have to wait

Rang them on a Sunday evening when the hot water had gone off and a woman answered within a couple of rings, which surprised me. Booked for the next morning and the engineer turned up in a clean van, sorted the pump and explained what he'd done. Only niggle is the paperwork came through by email a day later than I'd hoped.
