Fine for a day but not special

Honestly the zoo is fine if you want a few hours with the animals and a bit of fresh air. The booking page is clear enough. The sessions we booked for the keeper talk were sold as going ahead but the talk was shorter than advertised, and nobody explained why. Good enough, but I would expect a bit more for the money.

been a member for years

I have had the membership for a good while now and it renews each year without me having to think about it, which suits me fine. This last spring the card did not scan at the gate and I stood there for ten minutes while they sorted it. The staff were patient about it. Still, the same old penguins are a treat.

The lemurs were lovely

The lemur enclosure was the highlight of our visit, and the keeper stopped to talk to us about the ring tailed ones for a good ten minutes which I did not expect. The rest of the grounds were a little quieter than I had hoped and the cafe queue was rather long at lunchtime, but we did have a pleasant afternoon, and I would be happy to go back in the spring.

About Zoos of London

Zoos of London is the website of Whipsnade Zoo, a wildlife park in Bedfordshire run by the Zoological Society of London. The site presents the park's animal collections, conservation work and the range of visitor attractions across its grounds. Visitors use it to plan days out, check opening arrangements and book tickets for the park.

The organisation also supports breeding and research programmes that link the zoo's animals with conservation work in the wild. Families, school groups and members of the public form the main audience for the zoo's events and day visits.
