the rail and hotel combo

Booked the rail and hotel combo for a weekend in York, and I know the route from Manchester pretty well by now. The train times they listed were correct, the seat reservation was on the right coach, and the hotel was just a short walk from the station. Checking in was painless.

Been using them for years and still good

Good, reliable company that I have used for city breaks for around six years now. Booking the hotel in Edinburgh last month was smooth, though the room was on a higher floor than I wanted and the change took a day to sort through chat. Would still book with them again.

took a while to find the right place

The first time I used the site I had no idea how the booking worked, and I compared it to a couple of other travel sites before choosing this one. This was far more straightforward than the others, with clear prices shown up front and no surprise fees at the end. The whole checkout took about ten minutes, and the confirmation arrived almost immediately with everything in one place for our trip to Berlin.

The app was the best bit

The first thing I noticed was how simple the app was to use on my phone. Booked a train and hotel for a weekend in Bristol. Price was fine but the hotel check-in was a bit slow and I had to wait for the email with the booking reference.

Way better than going direct

Way better than booking the flights direct with the airline, ended up saving a bit and not having to deal with the extra fees. Checked in on the app no bother and the gate info was right. Solid for a quick trip to Amsterdam.

quick booking, no fuss

Booked a weekend in Edinburgh on the app during my lunch break and it took about two minutes. Confirmation came straight away and the hotel was exactly where it said. Would do it again.

Needed a quick last minute trip

We needed somewhere to stay for a funeral near Leeds, and we had to get something sorted within a day, so I checked a few booking sites and comparison pages. This one had a decent range of rooms but the price was a bit above the others I looked at, and the confirmation took about an hour to arrive, which was frustrating when I was in a rush. The stay itself was fine and the room was clean.

Far easier than booking direct

Compared with booking the flights and hotel separately on my own, this was much simpler, and I was first-time user so I was a bit nervous. Everything came through in one place and the confirmation email had all the times and transfer details I needed for our week in Lisbon.

Hotel was not quite as shown

Booked a hotel room in Brighton and the photos showed a sea view, which was not the case. The room was fine and clean but it looked onto a car park. For the price I would have liked the view as advertised.

Good for a last minute cottage

I compared three sites before settling on this one for a cottage in Cornwall, and it was the best of the three. Easy to search by dates and the pictures matched what we got. We stayed a week and had no problems at all with the place.

booked a trip for my sister's birthday

I wanted a short break for my sister's birthday, somewhere she could relax without having to organise anything herself. The package in Harrogate was arranged very thoughtfully, with the spa session and dinner all confirmed in advance. It made the weekend genuinely easy for both of us.

good but the refund was slow

Booked a hotel in Newquay for a mates weekend and it was pretty good, easy to find, nice rooms. Had to ask about a refund for a cancelled night and it took about a week to come back through. Would use again.

Needed a cheap flight home

I needed a cheap flight home from Glasgow after a family emergency, and I looked for the cheapest option available on short notice. The fare was lower than the airline's own site but the seat I got was in a cramped row and the baggage allowance was tight. It worked out, but I would think carefully about what extras you need before you pay.

first time booking a city break

This was my first time booking a city break through the site, and I picked a hotel and flight package for Rome. I chose the package with breakfast and airport transfers included. Everything matched what was listed, and the transfer driver was waiting at arrivals with a sign with my name on it. The whole thing ran very smoothly from start to finish for us.

Better than the usual coach firm

I had used a coach company before for the Cotswolds tour, and this was far better organised than that. The driver knew the route well, the timings were kept, and the booking was simple to follow for someone of my age who is not overly keen on technology.

good value for a weekend away

Got a weekend in Bath for less than I expected, and the breakfast was included which made it better value again. Hotel was clean and staff were nice when we checked in late. Worth it for the money.

Booked the rail and hotel pair for york

We booked the rail and hotel package for York for my husband's birthday weekend, and the train times were clear right from the start. The hotel was close to the station, which suited us very well as we are not as quick on our feet as we used to be. Everything went smoothly and we would happily use them again.

cheaper than booking separately

The hotel and train package for Newcastle worked out cheaper than booking the two separately, which was the main reason I went with it. Checked the price on three other sites first and this one was the lowest by a fair bit. The only thing that annoyed me was that the seat reservation cost extra and it was not shown until the last step. Otherwise it was a simple, decent deal for a weekend away.

A good place to book a short break

I would say this is a good place to book a short break, especially if you want the travel and stay sorted in one go. We booked a cottage in the Lake District and the check-in details arrived the week before. The only slight drawback was that the cancellation terms were not as clear as I would have liked, but we did not need to cancel.
