booked the cabin for our anniversary trip

We went for the inside cabin with the sea view window on the Holyhead to Dublin run and it was lovely. Easy to add the cabin when I was booking the car, and the stewards brought us tea without being asked. Would do it again.

First trip over and mostly fine

First time I've booked a ferry to Ireland so I wasn't sure what to expect, and the booking was quick enough on my phone. The sailing itself was smooth and the crew were helpful when I couldn't find the right deck. Only niggle is the car fee at the end of the booking took me by surprise, it wasn't flagged up earlier, but apart from that the crossing went fine and I'd book again.

Not as cheap as the other site

Quicker to book than the other site I tried, but the price was a bit higher for the same sailing, about a tenner more. Crossing from Pembroke was fine and the car deck was tidy. Quick one from my phone on the train.

Tried a few before choosing this

Compared Holyhead, Pembroke and Fishguard before settling on Pembroke for the Rosslare sailing, and the thing that stood out was the timings lined up well with our train. Price was fair and the cabin was comfortable enough for the night. Check in went smoothly and the staff were patient with our toddler who needed the loo twice. Would book this route again.

The cabin sea view made the trip

Looked at Stena and P&O before picking this one, and the price was about the same but the sailing times suited us better. What stood out most was the big windows in the lounge, we watched the coast of Wales disappear and it felt like a proper holiday start. Good value for a weekend away.

Good sailing, quick book

Booked it last minute on my phone and it was done in like five minutes. Boat was on time, cabin was clean, nothing to moan about really. Would get it again.

better than the cheaper crossing I tried before

Last year I went with a budget operator from Liverpool and the rough crossing put me off for months, so I booked this route from Holyhead instead. The sailing was far steadier and the food on board was better than I expected. Would pick this again over the other.

Got the sea view cabin for my birthday

Got the sea view cabin for my birthday trip with my best mate and it was lush. Could see the lights of the Welsh coast from the bed. Easy to book on the app too.

Booking was simple but the car fee was a surprise

I know this route well from years of going over to see family in Cork, and the booking flow on the site has got much better. The one thing that caught me out was the extra charge for a roof box which I hadn't expected at checkout. Sailing itself was on time and the crew were sound.

Unlike the airport parking we used before

We used to fly from Bristol and the airport parking and security queues wore us out, so this time we took the ferry with the car instead. The check in at the port was far less of a rush and the sea was calm across the Irish Sea. The cabin bed was firm and the breakfast on board was decent. Would do it again.

Needed to get the van across fast

We had a van full of trade stock to get over to Belfast for a job and the deadline was tight. Booked the van space on the site and it was sorted in one go. The crossing was on time and the crew helped us strap the load down.

Fast sailing is the one

The fast sailing from Holyhead cuts the crossing to just under four hours and that's the bit I care about, as I do the run every few weeks for work. Booked the usual fare through the site without any fuss and the sailing times have been on the nose every time I've gone.

Great for a weekend with the kids

Honestly it was a great weekend, the kids loved the play area and we had a family cabin with bunks. Booking was quick and I got a confirmation straight away. Worth every penny for us.

the Holyhead to Dublin crossing is the one

The fast sailing cut the crossing time to just under four hours which is the detail that matters to me when I do the run every few weeks. Check in at the port is quick and the staff know the regulars by face. Fine every time.

Bought a deck pass for the crossing

Got the deck pass upgrade when I was booking and it meant I could sit out on the top deck with the wind in my hair, which I loved. Staff were lovely about it. Would do again.

the verdict is a good sailing

It is a good sailing and I would take it again without thinking. I know the Dublin run from years of commuting for work, and the booking, check in and boarding all worked as they should. The crossing was on time with a steady sea. Nothing to add beyond that.

needed to change a sailing date

I had to move our crossing back by two days after my wife was taken poorly, and I wanted to shift the booking rather than lose the fare. The change process on the site was a bit fiddly and I had to ring the call centre in the end, where I waited about twenty minutes. They did sort it and the new date went through without a fuss. The crossing itself was smooth and the cabin was clean.

Needed a way to take the caravan across

We needed to get the caravan over to Ireland for a month of touring and the ferry was the only sensible option. Booking the caravan took a few goes because the site kept timing out, but in the end it went through. The crossing was fine and the crew were patient with us reversing onto the deck. Would book again.

needed a ferry last minute

Had to get home to Dublin for a funeral and flights were silly money so I booked the ferry from Holyhead on my phone in the car park. Took about five minutes, got the car on the first sailing going. Saved my bacon, honestly.

Much easier than flying with the dog

I have flown to Ireland with our spaniel before and the hassle of the airline cargo rules was awful, so I went with the ferry this time and it was so much less stressy. We could walk the dog on the deck and the pet friendly kennel area was clean. Booking was simple and the crossing from Pembroke was calm.
