Compared to a campsite in Donegal

I compared it with a campsite we used in Donegal last year and this was a big step up for a family with two young kids. The cottage had proper beds, a warm bathroom and a garden the children could run around in. Booking was easy for a first time user and the confirmation email had everything we needed.

far more straightforward than the agency

Compared with the agency we used a few years back, I found this far more straightforward, with the whole booking laid out on one page and no surprise fees at the end. The cottage in Kerry was clean, warm and well stocked, and the owner left us a note about the local walks which was a kind touch. We'll certainly be back.

A fine verdict on the stay

My verdict on the stay is that it was a very pleasant and well run holiday. The cottage in Wicklow was spotless when we arrived and the host had left a helpful guide to the local walks. The booking process was clear and the price was fair for the season.

Compared to a self catering agency

I compared this with a self catering agency we used before and I found Hogans the more straightforward of the two. The cottage was tidy and the heating was adequate for the time of year. Nothing much more to say, it did what we needed.

four nights in a cottage near Dingle

Booked a four night stay in a cottage near Dingle through the site back in March and it was spot on for the money. The place was clean, the heating worked straight away and there was enough space for the two of us and the dog. Check in was easy, the host left clear instructions and the price didn't jump at the last minute like it does elsewhere. Would sort it again.

needed a quiet place to recover

I needed somewhere quiet to recover after a hospital stay, and my daughter found this cottage near Kenmare. We have used the site for many years and it has never let us down. The place was peaceful and warm, with everything within easy reach. The host was kind and checked on us once to make sure all was well.

Booked after looking at three sites

Went with Hogans after looking at three other sites for a week in Donegal and it was the easiest of the lot. The price was in line with the rest and the photos matched what we got. Booking was smooth and the calendar showed exact availability, which the others did not.

a fine stay in Waterford

The stay in Waterford was a fine one, and I would say the verdict is simple: good value and a comfortable cottage. The booking was straightforward and the directions were accurate. We had a lovely few days and the house was as described.

Sorted out a late change no bother

We had to move our dates by two days about a week before the trip and I was expecting a fight. The site let me change them online and the cottage was still free, so that was that. Checking in was simple with the key safe and the place was spotless when we arrived. Parking was tight in the lane but the cottage itself was worth it for the view over the bay.

needed a place for a family reunion

We needed a place big enough for a family reunion in Clare and most of the options were either tiny or miles from anything. Hogans had a cottage with four bedrooms that suited us well. I compared a few other sites first and this one had the clearest photos and the best map of the local area. Everyone had room and the garden was great for the kids.

Needed accessible accommodation

We needed accessible accommodation for my mum who uses a wheelchair, and that is harder to find in rural Ireland than you would think. I looked at a few options and Hogans listed step free access clearly, which the others did not. The cottage in Cork had a wet room and a ramp at the front. Everything matched the listing and the host was very helpful with questions beforehand.

lovely cottage but a bit of a wait

We booked the cottage near Tralee for a long weekend and it was lovely once we got there. The only thing was the confirmation email took a day or two to arrive, which had me worried for a bit. Once it did, the arrangements were clear and the key collection went smoothly.

Booked after comparing a few sites

I compared a few sites before booking and this one came out a little dearer than a couple of the others for the same week. The cottage itself was lovely and the photos were accurate. The only real niggle was that the cleaning fee was added at the final step, which I would have liked to see earlier in the process.

Best place we have stayed in Ireland

We have been using Hogans for years now and this was the best stay yet. The booking was simple, the cottage in Connemara was just as photographed and the welcome pack was lovely. Our grandchildren loved the garden and we did not have to chase anyone for anything. We will be back.

Cottage in Kerry

booked a cottage in Kerry for a long weekend with mates. the place was fine, a bit older than the pics made it look but clean enough. the wifi was patchy and took ages to get the code for the door, had to message the host twice. still got there and it was decent value for a group of five.

Needed somewhere close to the wedding

We needed somewhere to stay close to my brother's wedding in Kilkenny and the site had a cottage free for the whole weekend. Everything went through without fuss and the place was exactly where it said it would be. Nice and quiet at night, which we were glad of after the reception.
