Great first stay

Really great first stay, we'd never booked a place like this before and it was simple from start to finish. The check in instructions came by text the day before and everything worked.

Bike storage was the bit I bought

Paid extra for the secure bike storage and it was a bit of a faff. The shed was in place but the lock took ages to sort out. The bikes were safe in the end, and the location was good for the trails.

not as good as the last place

Compared to the last place we stayed, this felt a bit flat. The beds were fine but the bathroom was small and the heating took ages to warm up. Check in was quick though.

better than the last holiday let

We've used a few holiday lets over the years and this one came out on top compared to the last. The house had more space, a proper working kitchen and a garden that actually gets sun in the afternoon. The owners were easy to reach by phone whenever we had a question. Everything worked and the beds were a real step up. We'll be looking at the place again for next year.

The walking guide pack

We bought the walking guide pack with the holiday and it turned out to be really useful. The routes started right from the door of the cottage and the maps were clear. We did two of the coastal ones and had no trouble finding the paths. The printed copy was handy since signal is patchy out there.

good value for the money

The price for a midweek break was lower than anything else we looked at for the same area. Booking was quick, the deposit was small and the balance came out a few weeks before arrival. Parking was included, which saves a fair bit. Solid value.

Needed somewhere dog friendly

We needed somewhere that would take our old spaniel, which rules out most places. The listing was upfront about which cottages allowed dogs and the booking went through without any fuss. The garden was fenced and he loved it. Everything was as described.

the glamping pod

Booked the glamping pod for a weekend away with my mate. Bed was comfy, the hot tub was a nice touch, and check in was dead quick. Only thing was the wifi kept dropping, so we just gave up and went outside.

Sorted pod, nice weekend

Booked the pod for a Friday to Sunday with my girlfriend and it was dead easy on the app. Got a text the day before with the code for the gate, no faff. The pod was small but cosy, hot tub was a bonus. Only thing was the wifi kept dropping but we were there to switch off anyway. Would do it again.

Not what we were promised

I'm afraid our stay did not match the description we were given. The cottage was clean enough, but the garden was much smaller than the photographs suggested, and the promised view was largely hidden by a hedge. When I raised it with the team they were polite, though it took a few days to hear back. We did not feel it was worth the price we paid.

A fine stay with one delay

We stayed at the cottage over a week in the autumn and were on the whole very pleased with it. The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a proper meal. Our only complaint was that the key safe code was not sent until the day we arrived, which left us waiting outside for a while. The area itself is quiet and very lovely for walks.

far nicer than the usual chain

Compared with the hotel chain we used to book every autumn, this felt like a proper break rather than a stopover. We've been coming back for about six years now and I'd say the cottages have only got better. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need and someone actually checks the heating works before you arrive. Booking the same cottage again took about two minutes on their site, which I appreciated. We'll keep coming back.

good place, one small issue

Got to say this has been our go to for holidays for a good few years now. The cottages are well kept and the team always answers when we need something. The only niggle this time was the wifi, which was patchy in the bedrooms. Otherwise we'll keep coming back.

The family room was the detail

The family room with bunks was the detail that made it work for us with two kids. The beds were sturdy and the room was bright in the morning. Good value for a family of four and nothing was missing from the kitchen.

needed a cheap weekend

Needed somewhere cheap for a weekend away with the lads and this did the job. Booking took a bit longer than it should as the payment page kept timing out. The cottage was fine, nothing special but clean and warm.

The lodge with the outdoor bath

Went for the lodge with the outdoor bath and it was honestly worth it. The bath was lovely and private, and the view across the valley is unreal. Staying in the lodge meant we could walk straight to the pub in the village. Would def stay there again.

Way better than the big chain

Compared to the big chain we always end up at, this was so much nicer. The lodge felt like a proper place and not a box with a bed in it. Booking was quick and the host sent a message the night before with directions.

Needed a cottage for a family reunion

We needed somewhere big enough for nine of us over a long weekend, so a proper cottage with enough bedrooms was the whole point. The listing was clear about the layout and the beds, and the place matched it. The only thing was the parking, which is tight in the lane, so we ended up shuffling cars around more than I'd like. Otherwise really easy to deal with from start to finish.

Needed a quiet break

My wife and I needed a quiet break after a difficult year, and the cottage gave us exactly that. The booking was straightforward and the host called ahead to explain the heating. Everything was in order and the garden was a real pleasure.
