Better rate than my old bank

Compared with the high street bank I used before, the exchange rate here was clearly better for sending money to my daughter in Canada. The transfer was simple to set up and she had it within a few hours. I was pleased with the amount she received at the end.

sent money to my girlfriend overseas

Sent money to my girlfriend in Nairobi for her course fees, using the app while on the bus. Took maybe five minutes to sign up and verify my ID, which I was not expecting to be so quick. Payment went through first time and she got the message that it had arrived that evening. Good.

Sorted my daughter's rent

My daughter is studying in Leeds and I wanted to send her rent money from my account in Spain without any fuss. I booked it online on a Sunday afternoon and it went through without any trouble, the confirmation came through straight away. The money reached her account on the Monday, which is exactly what I needed. The exchange rate was fair enough and the fees were listed clearly before I confirmed. I shall be using them again.

Not as quick as I had hoped

I chose this over a bank transfer because I was told it would be faster, and the rate looked reasonable. In practice the sign-up took several attempts because the identity check kept rejecting my documents. Once it was done the money arrived, but it was a frustrating process that took the best part of a week.

Still use them but not cheap

I've been sending money abroad with them for about fifteen years. Compared with my bank they're noticeably dearer on the fee, though the exchange rate was about the same. Fine for a one-off, but I do shop around now before I send anything large.

Sending money for my car

Needed to pay a seller overseas for a car part and this seemed the easiest option. The fees were on the higher side compared with the two other providers I checked. Got the money through on time but I would look at alternatives first next time.

Sent money to my mum

Used the site to send money to my mum in Lagos last week. Took about two minutes to set up, the rate was shown before I paid so no nasty surprises. Money landed same day, she said it came through in the afternoon. Quick and easy, would do it again.

the fee was the bit that caught me

The fee at the checkout was higher than I expected, so I went back and checked the rate against two other sites before going ahead. Once I had done that the rate itself was fine and the transfer reached my son in Manchester the next morning, no problems on the day. Signing up took about ten minutes, mostly because I had to upload my passport photo twice. I'd use it again for big amounts, though I'd check the total first.

Tracking could be clearer

Sent a payment to a supplier in Mumbai, and the tracking reference was given straight away which I appreciated. The status page only updates in batches though, so for a few hours it said processing with nothing else. The money did arrive the same working day, so no real harm done. Fees were in line with what I usually pay elsewhere. Would still use again.

best of the ones I tried

This is the one I would pick if you are sending money abroad and want it to arrive reliably. I compared three services and this had the clearest breakdown of fees before paying. My transfer to the Philippines landed the next day as promised.

Great for a regular transfer

This is the cheapest way I have found to send money to my sister in India each month. The fee is low, the rate is fair, and I have never had a problem with a payment. I check the rate on the day before I send, which takes a minute.

Better value than the card provider

Used to send money through my card provider, but the exchange rate there is much worse. This was noticeably cheaper for the same amount to my brother in South Africa. The sign-up was straightforward and the transfer arrived within the day. I have switched over for regular payments now.

The cash was waiting the next morning

I was a bit nervous sending money to my nephew in Ghana for the first time, but the process was clear enough once I found the right page. The recipient got the money the next morning, which was earlier than they had said it would be. I did have to ring them once to confirm a detail on the form, and they called back within the hour, very polite. Would use again.

needed cash to my brother quickly

My brother needed money for a deposit and it had to arrive that same day. Booked it on my phone in the lunch break, which was handy. The fee was a bit steep for the amount and the payment took a while to show as processed on my card. It got there in the end but I was checking it all afternoon.

Good for sending to india

Honestly it is a solid option if you send money overseas regularly. I have used it to send rupees to family several times and the tracking shows you where the money is at each step. The only thing I would flag is the rate can differ from the one on the screen if you are slow to confirm, so check before you press send.

first time using them

Sending money overseas for the first time, and it was far easier than I had feared. The site showed the total cost before I paid, and the money reached my cousin in the Dominican Republic the next day. Nothing complicated about it at all.

Needed to pay tuition quickly

I needed to pay my son's university fees abroad before a deadline, so speed mattered most. The transfer was set up in a few minutes on the site. The only small niggle was the fee being a touch higher than I expected, but the money arrived in good time.

Sent money for my grandson

I needed to send money to my grandson in Tanzania for his fees, and I wanted it done properly. The staff on the phone helped me with the form and explained each step. The money arrived when it was supposed to.

Paid my landlord from abroad

Sent rent to my landlord while I was away on placement. Set up the transfer in the app and it went through fine. Landlord got it the next morning, no problems at all.
