way better than our old bank card

Compared to the corporate card from our bank this is miles simpler, I can see every spend on my phone without logging into anything. Got a virtual card for the team in about two minutes, worked first time on the hotel booking. Would use it again, really pleased we switched.

Expense cards sorted at last

I was rather pleased that the virtual cards could be set up in seconds, which I did not expect from a company of this sort. The team behind the app have been courteous when I rang with questions, and I do think the reporting is clearer than my old system. My only quibble is that the categories took a little while to tidy up, but I expect that is down to my own muddle.

Exactly what a finance team needs

This is exactly what a finance team needs, with the cards, approvals and receipts all in one place. The integration with our accounting software worked first time, which saved me a lot of grief. Support has been quick and sensible whenever I have needed them.

Needed to tidy up expenses

We were losing track of who had spent what, so our office manager suggested trying Pleo. As a first-time customer I found the signup a bit longer than I expected, mainly because we had to upload company documents twice. After that the setup was sensible and the cards work well. The one thing I would change is how the receipts show up in the monthly summary, which took some getting used to.

Card declined and no quick answer

Our first card got declined at a supplier and I could not work out why from the app. Sent a message through the site and it took two days to hear back, which was annoying when someone was stuck at the till. Once it was sorted the card has been fine. Would have liked a faster reply.

sensible choice for the business

I weighed this up against a traditional corporate card from our high street bank and Pleo has been the more sensible option for us. The cards are easy to issue and cancel, and the spending limits can be changed without a phone call. I have found the app perfectly easy to navigate, which I was not sure about at first.

Card was live straight away

Bought a physical card for the ops lead and it was live as soon as they activated it in the app. No waiting around for it to arrive. Works fine, pays for stuff.

Bought a card for the trip

Got a virtual card for a team trip to Manchester and it worked fine for the hotel. Easy to set up on my phone and the limit was exactly what I wanted. Would use it again.

Needed cards for the team

We were hiring loads of freelancers and kept having to pay people out of our own accounts. Got the cards set up on the app in an afternoon, and now everyone can just tap and go. Saves me chasing receipts on WhatsApp too.

Checked a few before picking

Before signing up I looked at three other expense tools and this one was the easiest to get my head round. The receipt upload on the app is quick, though the category drop-down for mileage is a bit buried. Support answered my question within a day, which was nice, and the monthly cost came in a little under the others.

Good tool, fiddly approvals

Honestly it does most of what a finance team wants and the expense flow is quick. The approval rules took me a while to set up properly, and I had to read the help pages twice before the workflow made sense. Once it was running the card controls have been reliable and the team uses it without moaning.

New to it, mostly fine

We needed a way to stop people paying for small things on personal cards and reclaiming it later. We signed up to Pleo as a first-time customer and the onboarding was clear enough, although the identity checks took longer than the website suggested. Once we were in, the cards and receipt matching have been fine. The cost per user is a bit higher than I had hoped, so I do wonder whether we will keep the same plan next year.

Got the virtual card for software

I bought a virtual card through the app to pay for a software subscription for the team. It took about two minutes to set up and the payment went through first time. Nothing more to it than that really, it just did what I needed.

Receipt scanning on the app

The receipt scanning on the app is what sold it to me, as I was tired of losing paper slips in my bag. As a first-time user I got the hang of it within minutes and the matching to card payments is spot on. Our expenses now get approved in a day rather than a fortnight.

Cost saving for a small team

We needed to cut what we were paying for expenses across a small team, and this came in lower than our previous provider. The cards are easy to manage and the receipt capture on my phone does the job. I like the spending limits by category, though I wish the monthly plan had a cheaper tier for really tiny teams.

The best value we found

This is the best value we found for a team of our size, and the monthly cost works out well against what we were paying. The cards are simple to manage and I like that I can freeze one in seconds if needed. Our only complaint is that the export options could be a bit richer, but the rest is solid.

Still the best we have used

Pleo is the best expense tool we have had in our company and we have been with them for about six years now. The cards work, receipts get matched in the app, and our finance lead stopped chasing people for claims. Support has always answered within a day, which is more than I can say for our old bank.

Been using it for years

Compared with the old expense system we had, this is a lot less bother and I wish we had switched sooner. We have been using it for years now and the team barely think about it. The cards have never let us down, and my accountant says the exports are easy to work with.

Signing up took ages

The sign up itself was fine once I got going but the verification step took almost a week, with them asking for the same company documents twice. Once it was approved the cards and the app worked well, though I would have liked a faster answer from support when I chased it.

cheaper than the bank option

We compared it with the card package our bank offered and Pleo came out cheaper for the number of cards we need, which was the deciding factor. Setting up the team took an afternoon and the approval rules are easy to change without asking anyone. Receipt capture on my phone works properly, so the monthly reconciliation has gone from a full day to maybe an hour. For a small firm that is real money back.
