First time using them, very smooth

Compared with the high street bank, this was far cheaper for sending money to my sister in New Zealand. Set up my account and first transfer in one sitting and didn't need to phone anyone. Money landed within a day which was quicker than I'd been told to expect.

fees were lower than my bank

The fees were way lower than my bank's, which is what made me sign up. Compared a few options first and these came out cheapest for my transfer to my cousin in India.

sorted my pension payments abroad

I needed a way to get my pension sent over to my bank in Spain each month after we moved out there. Set it up with their team on the phone, and they walked me through the paperwork patiently. It's been going on for several years now and the payments arrive reliably each month with a sensible rate.

been with them years now

Been using FairFX for about six years and the account has never given me a reason to leave. Monthly transfers to my daughter in Spain go through without me having to think about it, and the rate has always been fair. Customer support has been helpful whenever I've rung them.

better than my bank by a mile

Compared to my bank's rate for sending money to my sister in Australia, this is miles better, the difference is easily a hundred pounds on a big transfer. I've used them for years, every time I send money the process is the same and nothing has gone wrong. The support team picked up the phone straight away the one time I had a question.

got a travel card for holiday

Got the prepaid card before my trip to Greece. Loaded it up in the app and used it at a few cash machines and shops. Had to wait a couple of days for the physical card to turn up though.

Been using them for years

They're still the ones I go to for my regular transfers to my son in Malta. Rates have stayed competitive over the years and the app has got easier to use. The money has never gone astray and I get a text as soon as it's sent, which I find reassuring.

checked three firms before choosing

They came out ahead of the other two I looked at for a transfer to India. The rate was better and the fee was lower, and the whole thing was clear from start to finish. Money arrived in a couple of days and I got a confirmation email at each step. I'd use them again without thinking twice about it.

Good rate, a bit slow to sign up

Sent a large transfer to my family in Pakistan and the exchange rate beat my bank's by a fair bit, which is why I'm using them. Signing up was slower than I'd like, the ID check needed two goes before it passed. Once the account was open, the rest was straightforward. Money landed in about two working days, which is fine.

Beat the other site on fees

Compared to the other site I usually use, this one charged less in fees for my transfer to Portugal. Quick to set up and the money turned up the next day. Happy with that.

Needed to pay rent from abroad

Was on a placement in Berlin and needed to pay my London rent from there, my bank wanted loads in fees. Signed up on the app during my lunch break and it was done quick. The money reached my landlord the next working day and the rate was way better than what I'd have got elsewhere. Would def use again.

Reliable for regular transfers

Honestly they're the only ones I'd use for my monthly transfers to my mum's account abroad. The rate is consistently good, and the money has arrived on time every single month for about six years. Setting up the standing order took two minutes and I haven't had to think about it since.

needed cheap way to pay invoice

I had a supplier invoice in euros and my bank was charging a fortune to convert it. Signed up in ten minutes, sent the money from my account and it arrived the day after. The fees were a fraction of what I'd been paying, which is the whole reason I use them now.

Needed to send money to uni mate

Needed to send my mate in Lisbon some cash for her deposit. Set it up on my phone in the evening and it went through fine. Bit annoyed the rate looked different on the day but it was still ok.

Cheaper than the bank for euros

Sent euros to a landlord in Italy and it was a lot cheaper than my bank's fees. Compared it against two other sites first, and this was the cheapest by some way. The money arrived the day after, so nothing to complain about.

The rate beat my bank by a fair bit

The first thing I noticed was how much the exchange rate beat my bank's, which is the whole reason I started using them years ago. I send money to family in Pakistan a few times a year and they've never let me down. The app is clear enough for someone my age and the money arrives when they say it will.

Rate moved between quote and payment

I got a quote for a transfer to Canada and by the time I'd filled in all the details the rate had dropped a bit. Not huge, but noticeable on a larger amount. The money did arrive, it just wasn't quite what I'd been shown when I started.

verification took a bit

The verification bit took longer than I thought, they wanted a second photo of my passport. Once that was sorted the transfer to my girlfriend in Poland went through fine. Rate was decent too.

Multi currency card works well

Got the travel card for a trip to Japan and it's been brilliant for me. Topping up through the app is quick and I like seeing the balance in yen and pounds side by side. One small annoyance is that the card took a while to arrive, but it did get here in the end.
