My current account with them

I've had my current account with them for going on six years now. The app is easy enough once you get used to it and the card has never once let me down. Cash arrives on time every month and the statements are clear.

still using the same account

Still using the same account I opened years back. The app has been updated a few times and each time it's got a bit clearer, though I still rely on the paper statements. Standing orders have never gone wrong and the balance always matches what I expect.

Sorted the switch in one go

Honestly the best bit is that it pulls transactions from all three of my accounts into one view, which is what I wanted. I've used a couple of budgeting apps over the years and this one categorises things more sensibly than most. Bills show up a few days before they come out so I'm not caught out, which saves me a lot of stress.

much better than the old lender

Much better than the old lender I used, where the paperwork went on forever. This one pulled my details from my open banking link so I didn't have to upload anything. Approved the same day and the funds were in my account before I'd finished my tea.

Tried a few before this

I needed a loan to cover a dental bill and tried a few providers before settling on this one. It was the easiest to get through and the repayment schedule is spelled out clearly. Money came through quickly.

Interest could be lower

The early repayment option is handy and I used it after six months. Interest could be a touch lower for what it is, but I knew that going in. Money hit my account the same day I was approved.

alright but slow to sort a problem

Its alright for day to day stuff. Had a payment bounce on me and it took the support chat a couple of days to actually reply, which was annoying when rent was due. Sorted in the end but I'd have liked it quicker.

Way easier than the bank

Way easier than trying to get a loan through the bank, which took me weeks last time. Here I had a yes or no within the hour and the money went straight to my account. No branch visit, no phone queue.

Needed a small bridge

Needed a small bridge loan to cover a car repair before payday and this was the cheapest option I found. Took maybe ten minutes to fill in the form. Repayments come out on the date they said they would, no surprises.

The monthly statement layout

The monthly statement layout is what I noticed first, everything is laid out sensibly and easy to follow. I could see at a glance where my money had gone. Staff on the phone were patient when I had questions about the fees.

Good for a quick loan

Good for a quick loan, I'd use it again. Applied Tuesday evening, approved by the Wednesday morning and the cash was in my account before lunch. Interest is a bit higher than I'd like but the process itself was dead simple and I didn't have to ring anyone.

Better than my old bank app

Compared to my old bank app this is miles quicker to get a loan sorted, I applied on the bus and had an answer before I got off. Money landed the next working day. Only thing is you need your payslips uploaded as photos which was a faff on my phone but that's on me really.

Worth it for the money

Stick with it, it's free for the basic bits and the extra features aren't pushy. I pay nothing a month and it does the job I need, which is seeing where the money goes before the direct debits hit. I've had it going since spring and haven't needed to ring anyone.

reliable every month

Been with them since the account first opened and it's been reliable every month. Direct debits go out when they should, the app shows everything clearly and I've never had to wait on hold. Would stick with them.

The credit score tracker

The credit score tracker in the app is the thing I actually use. Checks my score every month without me having to remember. Signing up was quick and the card turned up in about six days.

Looked at a few before picking

Needed a short term loan to get a new boiler fitted and looked at three different lenders before picking this one. Rates were in line with the others and the eligibility check didn't leave a mark on my credit file. Happy with it so far.

Needed cash for the car

Needed cash fast to cover an MOT and a new tyre, so I applied in the evening. Had an offer in the morning and the money was in by lunchtime. Repayment dates have matched what they said every month since.

cheaper than the overdraft

I used the small loan to clear an overdraft that was costing me a fortune, and it worked out cheaper than sticking with it. Got the money fast and the monthly payment fits my budget. The only niggle is they took a while to confirm my address, otherwise it did the job.

Found it a cheaper choice

I found this a more affordable choice than the high street option I had been looking at, which I was grateful for. The application asked for more detail than I expected but the advisor who got back to me was courteous. The funds reached my account the following morning.

About Emma

Emma is a UK personal finance app that connects to a user's bank accounts and credit cards to show spending, bills and subscriptions in one place. It categorises transactions automatically and lets users set budgets, track savings goals and receive alerts when spending moves outside those limits. The app is designed for individuals who want a clearer picture of where their money goes without manually entering every payment.

Emma is delivered entirely through a mobile app for iOS and Android, with no physical branches or shops involved. Its features include a debt payoff planner, a view of upcoming direct debits and an overview of net worth across linked accounts.
