The interactive map showing exactly where each tree went is the thing I'd point to first. I'd looked at two other places and this one was the only one that showed the actual planting site rather than a stock photo. Booking was quick and the updates have kept coming.
Read moreWorst part was the certificate took about three weeks to show up after I'd paid and the support reply was slow. Got there in the end but it was a faff.
Read moreI had been using my bank's own travel card for years and was always told it was the safest option, but Treedom turned out to be far simpler to set up and the fees were clearer. I signed up over the phone in one sitting and they confirmed everything by post within the week. Very pleased indeed, and I have already recommended it to my sister.
Read moreIt does what it says, you pay for a tree and they plant it and send updates. I've used a few of these now so I know the setup. Honestly the price is higher than some others I've tried for the same kind of gift, and the update emails are fairly sparse, so I'd check first if you're on a budget.
I've been with them a few years now and they used to be cheaper than the other tree schemes I looked at. The price has crept up though, and I'd noticed the other places offering more for the same money. The planting itself still seems to happen.

Treedom is an online platform that allows people to plant trees around the world and follow their growth through a personal page. Each tree is planted in partnership with local farming communities, many of them in Africa and Latin America, and the company is built around agroforestry projects that combine trees with crops. Customers choose a tree, receive a certificate and updates from the project, and can gift trees to others or purchase them for businesses seeking to offset emissions.
The service is aimed at individuals, families, schools and companies that want a tangible way to support reforestation and rural livelihoods. Treedom operates primarily through its website and app, with planting and follow-up handled by its partner growers on the ground.
