Spine Book Printing

Needed posters for a gig on the Saturday so I was in a rush. Uploaded the file at night and they had the posters done and dispatched the next morning. Sorted and cheap enough for a bit of cash I had left.

I had been using a bigger online printer for my zine but this was a good bit cheaper for the same page count and paper. The file upload took me a few tries because my fonts didn't embed properly, which was my fault not theirs. The finish feels a little less sturdy than I hoped but the colour is good and I'd happily order again.

Needed a run of zines for a gig on the Friday so I went looking for somewhere that could do it quick. Uploaded on Monday, they sent a proof straight away and I signed it off same day. Arrived Thursday, perfect for what I needed. Cheap too, could've been a lot worse.

I got two quotes before ordering and this was about a fifth less than the big online printers for the same 200 page paperback run. The spine on the finished copies is a bit tight so the cover doesn't open flat, which is a shame for a manual. Delivery was fine though and the price is what made me choose them in the first place so I'm not complaining too much.

I bought a small print run of my first book and had no idea what I was doing. The site walked me through the cover size and spine width without fuss. Got my copies back and they look like proper books, which is all I wanted.

I ordered a softcover photo book of our wedding pictures and the paper and print quality are lovely, the photos look crisp. The gloss on the cover is a bit fingerprint prone but that is what I expected. Packed well and came quickly, the pages lay flat.

I went for a case bound hardback with a matt laminated dust jacket and it came out really sharp, the colour on the cover matched my proof well. The head band is a bit thin but the book feels solid in the hand. Turnaround was quick and I'd order from them again.

Got my zine printed through them, quality's fine. Took ages to get my account set up though, kept getting an error on the upload page and had to email them. Waited about 2 days for a reply.

Needed menus printed for my mate's cafe opening and time was tight. Ordered late afternoon, they had a proof to me by the next morning and the finished menus turned up two days later. Quality is decent for the money, laminated and everything. Yeah, would use them again.

Been using them for about eight years for our parish newsletter and they have never let us down. Always the same, clear pricing and the reorders take a minute to set up. Nothing has ever gone wrong with a run.

I work in print so I know what to look for, and the colour proof they sent matched the screen well. Binding on the saddle stitched booklets was neat with no stray staples. Reply to my question about bleed took a day which was slower than I'd like.

Did the job, the books arrived in good condition and the pages are clean. Not the cheapest I looked at though, and the upload checker took a couple of goes before it accepted my PDF. Would use them again if I needed something printed in a hurry.

I compared three places before picking this one and the other two wanted a higher minimum order. Here I could do a small run of 50 copies without paying extra for it. The print quality is about the same as the others, nothing special, but it does the job well.

I usually use a local firm, but I thought I would try this one to compare prices, and their figure was lower than my usual. The binding is rather more basic than I am used to, though it has held up well so far. Communication was courteous and the order arrived as stated.
