Sorting my affairs after a diagnosis

After my diagnosis I knew I needed to put my affairs in order quickly, and this was the first thing I looked at that felt manageable. The questions guided me through the lasting power of attorney without being overwhelming. The support team were kind and patient when I rang with a query.

Needed a will after my brother died

After my brother passed away last year I realised I had never got round to making my own will, and it was weighing on me. I wanted something done properly without having to traipse into town. The questions were patient and the guidance on executors was very helpful. I felt looked after throughout.

Power of attorney pack

I bought the power of attorney pack after comparing a couple of other firms. It came with the forms already filled in from my answers and a clear guide on how to register. Nothing about it felt rushed.

checked three firms before choosing

Before I picked this I checked three other firms for a will and a power of attorney, and the price here was the clearest of them. The forms came back quickly with a covering note explaining what to sign and where to get the witnesses. It all felt straightforward, which is what I wanted.

Knows the subject properly

Verdict is simple, they know their stuff on lasting powers of attorney and wills. I have worked in a bank for years so I know a poor form when I see one, and these were clear and correct. The guidance matched the official rules as far as I could tell.

have used them for years

What I like most is the reminder they send when it is time to review a will after a big change in the family. I have used them for a few years now for updates and it has always been easy. The team on the phone know my details without me having to repeat myself.

sorted in an evening

Honestly did my will in one evening and it was done properly, which I did not expect. Cheap, quick and the questions were not annoying. Would use again for sure.

way easier than booking a solicitor

Compared with trying to get a solicitor to call me back this was dead easy, I did it all on my phone on the bus. Got the will drafted the same afternoon and signed it at home. Done.

Cheaper than the high street

Compared with the high street will writers this was a fair bit cheaper, and I got a will done for the price of a takeaway for two. The downside was the signing instructions came as a PDF with no printed copy, so I had to print it myself. Otherwise it was fine and the questions were easy to follow.

Way quicker than the solicitor

Compared to booking a solicitor appointment this was miles quicker, I did the whole will on my phone during my lunch break. Got the draft back the next day and only had to tweak one bit. Really handy for someone who never has time to sit in an office.

Best of the ones i tried

This was the one I went with in the end and I would pick it again. I looked at three other will writing services before settling on it, and the others either had hidden extras or made the process feel like a sales pitch. Here the price was clear from the start and the documents arrived looking professional. Customer support answered my question within a day.

The verdict is good

Honestly this is the one to go for if you want a will without the fuss. I tried two other sites first and they were either pricier or wanted me to phone for every little question. Here everything was answered on the site and the final documents were neat and ready to sign.

cheap and quick to set up

The price for the will and the lasting power of attorney together was the lowest I found, and I checked a few. The sign up took about twenty minutes but the reminder emails asking me to confirm my details were a bit much. Documents came through by email the same day which was handy.

Documents took a while

I bought the will package and the questions were clear enough, I did appreciate that. The documents took longer to arrive than the site suggested, about three weeks in total, and I had to ring once to ask where they were. Once they arrived they were in good order.

needed it before moving abroad

I needed a will sorted before moving abroad for work, so the deadline was tight. Booking was simple enough and I got through the questions in one sitting. The one thing I would change is that the reminder emails came a bit too often.

A sensible way to sort things

I was rather grateful that the questions were laid out in a clear order, and I found I could stop and carry on later without losing anything. The service itself was courteous and I received a helpful reply to my one query within the day. I would say it is well suited to someone who wants things done properly without fuss.

tried three before picking this

Honestly the most useful bit was that they show the full cost upfront, which the other two didn't. Before settling on this I looked at two other online will services and one solicitor. This one gave me a will and a power of attorney for less than the others quoted for just the will. The questions were sensible and I could finish it on my lunch break. Glad I went with them.

lasting power of attorney done online

I bought the lasting power of attorney package for my husband and me, and I was rather pleased with how the questions were laid out. Signing up took about twenty minutes and I could pause and come back to it. The documents arrived as a PDF and I printed them off myself, which was fine. The only thing I would mention is that the witness section needed a bit more explaining than I expected, but we managed.

better value than the other one

Compared with the other online will service I tried first, this one gave a lot more for the money, including a second copy of the documents for storage. The other site made me pay extra for anything beyond the basic will. Very happy with the way it was done.
