Slow and a bit annoying

Not great honestly. Booked a top up and it sat as pending for ages, I had to message them twice before anyone replied. It did eventually go through but it was a faff and I was stressing about it. Probably won't bother again.

Quick but the app is clunky

Honestly it's quick enough, got my card sorted in about ten minutes. The app is a bit clunky though, kept logging me out when I tried to check the balance. Would still use it again.

Better than my old option

Compared with the bank's own card, this is way quicker to set up and I don't get hit with the odd fee. Booked it from my phone in the car park and it was live before I got home. Fine for what I need.

Sorted my pension payment

Needed a cheap way to pay my nephew back for the car repair without the bank taking a cut. Sent it through on the site, around a fiver in charges. Fine.

cheaper than the shops

Compared with buying a gift voucher from the high street, these worked out a fair bit less in fees for the same amount. I bought three and the whole lot came through quickly. Good value for what you get.

Went with this one

Went with this one after looking at three others, and it's the one I'd pick again. The signup was the quickest of the lot and the price was the lowest for what I wanted. Nothing to complain about.

slow to refund a payment

Had a payment go through twice and needed it sorted out, which the app made look easy at first. Sent a message through the site and the first reply came back after three days, asking for info I'd already given. Once they had what they needed the refund came through, but it was a long wait with my money stuck somewhere in the middle. Fine in the end though, just a bit frustrating getting there.

Way easier than the bank

Compared to my bank's own system this is so much quicker to send money to my sister abroad. Set it up from my phone on the bus and the transfer went out the same afternoon. The exchange rate was shown up front too, so no nasty surprises. Would use again.

Needed a multi currency account

I travel for work a lot so needed a way to hold euros and dollars without paying a bank's conversion rate every time. Opened the account online, identity check was quick. Rates on the app match the mid market rate closely, which is what I wanted. Spending abroad works fine, card has never been declined.

app shows the fee up front

What I noticed first was the fee breakdown on the confirm screen, every charge listed before I pressed send, which I wasn't expecting. Set up a standing order for my rent split with two housemates. Took a while for the first payment to show as received on the other end, around a day and a half, but that's the only thing that dragged.

clear fees for once

What struck me was how upfront the fees were, shown before I confirmed anything, which is rarer than it should be. I've used a few of these for expenses over the years and this is the most straightforward. Payments landed in the account the next working day as promised.

Booked a top up on the app

Used the app to book a top up for my card before a night out. It went through quick enough but the fee was a bit more than I expected for such a small amount. Otherwise it did what it needed to.

Still using them after years

I needed a way to send birthday money to my grandsons without faffing about with cheques, and this has done the job for years now. I've been a customer since they first started and the process hasn't changed much, which suits me fine. The cards arrive on time and the balance is always where I expect it to be.

Needed to split a bill

Needed a way to split a bill with my flatmates for the energy and the broadband, and this was the easiest to set up. Signing up took a fair while because they wanted a few documents from me, and I had to wait for someone to look at them. Once approved it worked fine, and the money came through to everyone on time. Just a bit slow getting going, but it does what it says.

good service with one niggle

I'd say the service itself is sound and the money reached the account when promised. The one thing I'd mention is that the website could be easier to navigate for someone who isn't used to these things, I had to hunt about for the right page. Otherwise I've had no cause for complaint.

Quick top up between meetings

Topped up my card from my phone while waiting for a train, took about two minutes and the money was showing on the card straight after. Only thing is the login kept timing out so I had to type my details twice, but got there in the end.

Fine but the fee stung

I've been using these for a good while now and mostly they're reliable. This time I compared the cost against the bank transfer I'd usually do, and this came out a bit dearer for a smaller sum. The money did arrive when it said it would, which counts for something, but I'm not sure I'll keep going with them if the fees stay like this.

sent money to my mate in Lisbon

Used the site to send money to my mate in Lisbon for our flat deposit when we were both out there for the summer. Signed up on my phone in like five mins, needed a selfie and my passport photo but that was fine. The money got there the next morning, she said it landed before she'd even had her breakfast. Easy.

first time sending money abroad

Sent money to my brother in Lagos for the first time through their site, so I was nervous about it. The signup asked for a photo of my passport and a selfie, which took a bit of faffing about with the camera, but once I was verified the transfer went through in a day and he had the money the next morning. Rate shown before I confirmed was clear, and the tracking updates were handy. Happy with it.
