Compared with ringing round three different firms, this was far simpler. I put in our postcode and the date we wanted to move, and quotes came back the same afternoon. The man who turned up for our daughter's bedroom furniture was polite, on time and took care with the wardrobe. I'd be happy to use it again.
Read moreHonestly it does the job for comparing quotes, and I have used it for years now to find a van for house moves and the odd bit of furniture. This time the confirmation took a couple of days to come through, and I had to chase the firm by phone before I knew who was actually coming. Once the driver arrived it was fine.
Read moreUsed the site to find a man with a van to clear out a garage full of old tools and bits from my dad's house, and I have used it twice now so know how it works. The first firm I was matched with was a bit slow to reply but the second one turned up on the day and did a proper job of loading everything. Only niggle was the time it took to get a firm to commit.

Booked a small van for moving a sofa and two boxes from my mates flat to mine, took about five minutes on the site and the price showed upfront no faff. Driver turned up early and was dead helpful getting the sofa down the stairs. Would use again, cheers.
I rang the firm first but it was a fair bit more hassle than I was expecting, so I went to the site to find someone to move the compost and tools to my new allotment. Quotes came through quickly and the service was pleasant enough. Price was about average for what it was.
Compared it with the big comparison sites I usually check and the quotes here came out a fair bit higher for the same two bedroom move. The man who did the job was fine but I did feel I could have got it for less elsewhere.
I needed to get my stuff from my parents to my first flat and had no idea how to book a van without paying a fortune. The site walked me through it and I got a quote that made sense. Driver was lovely and the whole thing was done in one afternoon.

Needed a man and van at short notice for a flat move, and got three quotes back within the hour. Booking was quick and the driver was on time with the right size vehicle. Good value.

Compare the Man and Van is a UK service that connects people who need to move house, transport goods or clear items with local removal firms and man-with-van operators. Customers enter the details of their job online and receive quotes from vetted providers, allowing them to compare prices and availability before choosing a company to book. The site covers a range of jobs from small single-item collections to full household moves across the country.
The platform is aimed at private individuals, students, small businesses and tenants who need affordable, flexible transport without hiring a full removal company outright. Booking and communication take place online, with the chosen operator carrying out the work directly for the customer.
