Cloudstyle

First time I've ever used a service like this, and compared with my old external hard drive it's a huge relief not to worry about it dying. Booking the plan took a few minutes and the welcome emails explained what to do next. The only niggle is the mobile app asked me to log in again twice in the first week, which was a bit annoying but hasn't happened since.

Using the desktop sync for my work files on the go and it mostly works well, sends stuff across quickly. Only niggle is the app took about a day to show my new uploads on my phone, but it sorted itself out and I haven't had any problems since.

Bought the basic monthly plan to back up my phone pics, took about two minutes to sign up and the upload started straight away. Haven't had any issues so far, works fine on my laptop too.

I took out the annual plan for our village history society's photographs and documents, and signing up was straightforward enough. The price is fair for what it covers. My only complaint is that the first invoice didn't show the VAT breakdown clearly, and it took a couple of emails to get a proper copy for the society's accounts.

My late husband kept everything in paper folders and I was worried about losing scans of the house papers and his will copies when I finally went digital. I asked my son to help with the setup and he said the process was simple enough that I could manage it myself. The uploads have been reliable and the support team answered my one question within the hour, which I did appreciate.

Compared with the big names the monthly cost is noticeably lower for the same amount of space, and that was the deciding factor for me. Signing up took a few minutes and the first upload of my accounts folder went through without trouble. The web interface is a bit plain and the sharing options take some hunting to find, but for backing up files it does the job at this price.

I've been with them for about six years now, mainly for backing up the household laptops and keeping a shared folder with my sister. The service has been reliable on the whole. What bothered me this time was a recent upload that kept stalling for over a week, and the support reply took three days to come back. It got sorted eventually, but I expected a quicker answer for something that was holding up my work.

Great value for what you get, and I'd say it's the one to start with if you've never used a cloud service before. Signing up was quick and the first sync to my laptop worked without fuss.

Honestly it's fine for storing photos and that's about it. The desktop sync keeps stopping and I have to log back in every couple of days, which is a pain when I'm trying to get uni work done. Would be better if it just stayed connected.
