City Plumbing

We had water coming through the kitchen ceiling so we needed someone quick. Booked on a Thursday and they came Friday morning. Price was fair for a small job and the plumber was tidy and friendly. Only thing was the parking outside was a nightmare for him.

They are the people I ring whenever something goes wrong in the house and I've been using them since we moved here. The same plumber has come out to us a few times now so he knows the boiler. Phone reply is usually quick and they turn up when they say they will. The service is consistent and I have no reason to look elsewhere.

Our old boiler died on a Sunday night in January so we needed someone who could come out quickly. I called round and they were the only one who could get a plumber out the next morning. The engineer explained the options without pushing the most expensive one and the install was done in a day. Heating and hot water back on, which is all we wanted.

Booked them for a cracked cast iron soil pipe under the kitchen floor, which is a fiddly job that most firms won't touch. The engineer knew his stuff and talked me through the options. He used a proper repair collar and checked the fall on the drain run before he left. Ringing to book was straightforward and the job was finished in one day. Price was fair given the access.

Compared with the last firm I used these took nearly three days to get back to me about a leaking radiator valve. I was messaging on my phone between shifts and kept chasing. When the plumber did come he was fine and fixed it properly. Just the waiting around that got on my nerves.

Their man turned up at the time they said and had the dripping kitchen mixer tap replaced in under an hour. Price was fair for a callout on a weekday, though the invoice came a few days after the job and I had to chase it. Work was tidy and he cleaned up after himself, so small niggle only.

The plumbing work itself was done neatly and the man took his boots off at the door which I appreciated. What stood out was that the invoice took almost two weeks to arrive by post and I had to ring to ask for it. The job itself was decent value. Just a bit of a faff on the paperwork side.

Got three quotes for a leaking outside tap and these were the only ones that answered the same day. Price was in the middle of the others. Engineer came out the following Tuesday and sorted it in twenty minutes.

We booked the full bathroom refit after looking at three firms and these came out cheapest with the clearest written quote. The plumber laid out what was being done each day and kept to it. Finished on the date we agreed and the new shower works perfectly. Would use again.

The quote matched the final bill to the penny. I'd go back to them without hesitation.
