Big Blue Travel Cover

I was rather surprised that a real person answered the phone within a minute when I rang about my cover, which I did not expect at all. The paperwork took a little while to arrive, though, and I did have to chase it once. Otherwise I'm content with it.

I bought the annual multi trip policy for the two ski holidays we take each winter and it covers the kit as well. The price went up at renewal more than I'd like, and the policy document was hard to find on the site. The cover itself has been fine so far.

Cover is sound and the policy did exactly what it said when I asked about extending a trip in Greece. It is somewhat dearer than the comparison sites suggested at first. Tthe renewal reminder came a bit late though, which I didn't appreciate.

The policy documents took nearly a week to come through by email after I had paid, which worried me a little before we left for Majorca. I did ring them twice and each time the person was polite and helpful. It all came right in the end.

Worth it, and the cover for cancelling a holiday is better than I'd expected for what we paid. We booked a family trip to Cornwall for a week and got the cancellation cover added on at the checkout without any fuss. The email confirmation came straight away with the policy wording attached, which saved me hunting for it later.

Needed cover for a trip to a festival in Portugal and didn't want to pay for loads of stuff I wouldn't use. Got the basic one with lost baggage added on, took five minutes on my phone. Emailed the policy straight away so I had it saved offline.

I'd been quoted through my bank card's travel insurance and this came out roughly a third cheaper for the same trip to Florida. It is a little bit more fiddly to add a second traveller to the policy than I'd expected. Apart from that it's been simple.

Added the gadget cover to my laptop and phone for a work trip to Lisbon and it was about a tenner on top of the basic policy. The quote showed exactly what was covered and the excess was clearly listed. Simple enough to buy on my phone while waiting for a train.

I'd always just taken whatever the travel agent offered but this was a fair bit cheaper and I could see exactly what I was getting. It was my first time buying cover on my own and the questions on the form were easy to follow. We haven't needed to claim yet but I feel sorted.
