needed a cheap trip for my girlfriend's birthday

Wanted to take my girlfriend somewhere for her birthday without spending loads so this was the obvious place to look. The weekend in Brighton was lovely and the hotel was nice. Only thing was the booking page kept timing out so I had to start again, but it got sorted in the end.

Booked a week in the lakes and the hotel was lovely

The first thing I noticed was how quickly the search picked up my dates, which is more than I can say for the last site I used. I've been booking breaks through them for about six years now, mostly for my sister and me. This time the hotel photos were a bit more flattering than the room itself, nothing awful, just smaller than I'd expected. The price was still good and the confirmation came through straight away.

cheaper than booking direct

Put the Dublin weekend through here and the total came in lower than booking the flight and hotel direct. The refund bit for changing one leg was a faff though, it took a few emails before it went through. Everything else was fine and the hotel was where they said it would be.

confusing booking for a weekend in dublin

I'd not used them before and I found the booking steps a bit confusing at first, especially choosing between the flight options. The trip to Dublin itself was fine though, and the hotel was in a good location near the centre. It took a day to get the final confirmation through, which was slower than I'd have liked, but everything was in order when I checked in.

First time using them, pricier than a direct booking

This was my first time booking through them and I compared it with booking direct with the airline. It turned out a bit dearer than going straight to the hotel, which was disappointing as I'd hoped for a deal. The trip itself to Prague was fine and the hotel was clean and central. The confirmation arrived quickly and nothing was missing.

Cheaper than going direct

Compared it with booking the same flight and hotel straight with the airline and this came out about thirty quid less in total. The booking steps were a bit fiddly on my phone, with the seat options squashed up together. Once I'd got through it everything worked and the trip went smoothly, so I'd still use them again.

About Openferry

Openferry is a British online travel business that sells ferry crossings and ferry-inclusive holidays across the English Channel and the wider Europe network. Customers book ferry crossings for driving and walking passengers, and combine them with accommodation, cabins and tours for holidays in France, Spain, Italy and beyond. The company operates primarily through its website and app, where travellers compare sailings, choose vehicle and cabin options and manage their bookings online.

Openferry is known for bundling ferry travel with hotels and excursions, allowing customers to plan a complete trip from a single booking. Its customers are mainly families and independent travellers from the United Kingdom who prefer to travel by sea rather than by air.
