Lovely dark bars for the family

I ordered the dark chocolate bars for my husband's birthday and they arrived in good time, which I was pleased about. The chocolate has a deep flavour without being too bitter, and he has already asked me to order another box. The packaging was neat and the bars were not broken in transit, so I have no complaints at all. I shall certainly be ordering again.

the little bar with the tiny sticker

Honestly the sticker on the back of each bar is so cute, my flatmate kept collecting them. Taste is really smooth, not gritty at all. Got my order in like two days. Yum.

needed some for a work event

I needed a good batch of chocolate for a work event and this seemed the right fit for the ethical side of things my boss likes. Ordering through the site was straightforward and I got a confirmation straight away. The bars went down well at the event, although a couple of them were a little softer than I'd like once they'd sat in the car. Quality is good and I'd order again.

Best of the fairtrade ones I tried

Easily the best of the fairtrade chocolate I've tried this year. I compared it with a couple of other brands first and this one just tasted richer and less cloying. The bars are small enough to share but I ended up eating most of them myself, to be honest. Would order again.

Nicer than the cheap ones

Compared with the cheap ones from the corner shop this is much nicer. Price is a bit higher though. Took a bit longer to arrive than I wanted. Still good.

a sweet little treat for the chapel

I ordered a selection of the milk bars for the chapel's coffee morning and they went down a treat. Delivery was a touch slower than I'd hoped, around a week, though the bars arrived in good condition. Nice quality for the money.

Needed something for the church bake sale

I needed a good quantity of fairly traded chocolate for the church bake sale and a friend recommended this company. I placed the order without any trouble and everything was clearly laid out on the site. The chocolate sold out within the hour, so the people who ran the stall were very pleased with it.

the price is on the high side

The first thing I noticed was the price per bar, which is higher than the chocolate I usually buy at the big supermarket. The taste is pleasant enough and the ethical side appeals to me. I'm not sure I'll make it a regular purchase unless I can find a discount code.

The fairtrade range

Ordered a few bars from the fairtrade range, I know the cocoa sourcing side pretty well from work so I was curious. The traceability info on the packaging is genuinely detailed, which I liked. Delivery was a day later than promised but I was kept informed. The taste is solid, nothing groundbreaking, but it's a good everyday chocolate.

Better than the supermarket one

I have bought the supermarket own-brand fairtrade bars for years, and I did wonder whether these would be worth the extra. They are noticeably richer and less sugary, which I appreciated. The delivery was a little slower than I'd hoped, taking the best part of a week, though the bars arrived in perfect order. On balance I think they are a good choice, and I shall keep ordering them for my sister.

compared it with the usual supermarket bars

Compared with the supermarket own brand I usually get, this is a step up in flavour and the texture is much silkier. I also tried a boutique brand from a farmers market and found this one better value for the amount you get. The order came quickly and the bars were wrapped well so nothing was damaged. The only reason it isn't perfect is that I wish there were more dark options in the range. Still, I'd happily buy again.

The cocoa farmer info on the wrapper

First thing I noticed was the info about the cocoa co-op printed right on the wrapper, which I didn't expect. Bar itself is good, a bit crumbly but tastes fine. Delivery took about four days which was fine. Would order again.

good value for the quality

Honestly this is good value for the quality you get, which is what I care about. The bars are a fair size for the money and I didn't feel I was paying extra for a fancy label. Ordering was quick and it arrived when they said it would. Good stuff.

not quite what I expected

The verdict is that they're fine, but I'd been expecting something a bit more special for the price. The chocolate is decent and the ordering was simple enough. The delivery took longer than the site suggested, and the bars were smaller than the pictures made them look. I'd probably try something else next time.

needed it for the school fundraiser

We needed a good amount of fairly traded chocolate for the school Christmas fair and I'd been meaning to try this lot for ages. The order went through quickly on the site but the delivery came a day later than the date they gave, and I had to ring to check on it. The bars themselves were lovely though, and the Easter eggs the kids got on the day went down a treat.

ordered the mixed box for the team

Ordered the mixed box for the team on my phone during a lunch break and it took about two minutes to sort. Bars came in a sturdy box, nothing melted, which matters in this weather. Everyone's gone for the orange one so I'll need to reorder that. Quick and easy, no faff.

needed a fairtrade option for the office

Our office needed a fairtrade option for the kitchen and I've been looking into the cocoa sourcing side of things for a while. This company's certifications are clearly laid out and the product lineup is sensible. The chocolate itself is very good, and the bulk box arrived well organised.

lovely chocolate and a fair price

Really pleased with my first order, the chocolate tasted lovely and felt properly made rather than mass produced. The site was easy to use and it arrived quickly with the bars in good condition. I liked that the price felt fair for what you get, and I'll definitely be ordering again when the current box runs out next month.

Compared to the big name brands

I have always bought the well known chocolate brands, but a friend pointed me towards this company and I thought I'd give it a go. Compared with my usual, the texture is firmer and the flavour far more intense, and it doesn't leave that waxy feel at the back of the throat. I've been a loyal customer for a good few years now, and the orders have never let me down. I'll keep coming back, I expect.

milk bars for the office

Ordered a box of the milk bars for the office. Took two minutes to order on my phone. Arrived on time. Bars were a bit smaller than I thought from the photo but they taste good. Will reorder.

About Divine

Divine is a fair trade chocolate company that makes chocolate bars, truffles and other confectionery from cocoa sourced through its farmer-owned cooperative model. The brand was co-founded with the Kuapa Kokoo cocoa farmers' cooperative in Ghana, and its ownership structure gives those farmers a share in the business and its profits. Its range spans everyday milk and dark chocolate bars, flavoured varieties and seasonal gift products, sold through supermarkets, independent retailers and its own online shop.

The company's customers are shoppers who want chocolate with a clear social purpose, and its products are widely stocked in UK grocery stores as well as sold directly to consumers online. Divine focuses its communication on the origins of its cocoa and the cooperative behind it, placing the farmers' role at the centre of its public identity.
