Nicer than the cheap ones

Compared with the cheap ones from the corner shop this is much nicer. Price is a bit higher though. Took a bit longer to arrive than I wanted. Still good.

the price is on the high side

The first thing I noticed was the price per bar, which is higher than the chocolate I usually buy at the big supermarket. The taste is pleasant enough and the ethical side appeals to me. I'm not sure I'll make it a regular purchase unless I can find a discount code.

not quite what I expected

The verdict is that they're fine, but I'd been expecting something a bit more special for the price. The chocolate is decent and the ordering was simple enough. The delivery took longer than the site suggested, and the bars were smaller than the pictures made them look. I'd probably try something else next time.

needed it for the school fundraiser

We needed a good amount of fairly traded chocolate for the school Christmas fair and I'd been meaning to try this lot for ages. The order went through quickly on the site but the delivery came a day later than the date they gave, and I had to ring to check on it. The bars themselves were lovely though, and the Easter eggs the kids got on the day went down a treat.

About Divine

Divine is a fair trade chocolate company that makes chocolate bars, truffles and other confectionery from cocoa sourced through its farmer-owned cooperative model. The brand was co-founded with the Kuapa Kokoo cocoa farmers' cooperative in Ghana, and its ownership structure gives those farmers a share in the business and its profits. Its range spans everyday milk and dark chocolate bars, flavoured varieties and seasonal gift products, sold through supermarkets, independent retailers and its own online shop.

The company's customers are shoppers who want chocolate with a clear social purpose, and its products are widely stocked in UK grocery stores as well as sold directly to consumers online. Divine focuses its communication on the origins of its cocoa and the cooperative behind it, placing the farmers' role at the centre of its public identity.
