I had been quoted a higher rate by my bank for a similar sum, so I was pleased to see Hiive offering a lower figure. The application was straightforward and I was given a clear breakdown of what I'd repay each month. The funds reached my account within a day, which I appreciated. I have since recommended it to a friend.
Read moreHaving used a high street bank for years, I was surprised how the application here compared, since the bank is quicker at this kind of thing. The forms asked for things I felt were repeated, and it dragged on for nearly a week before I heard back. The fees were also higher than I expected for the sum.
Read moreA dental bill came out of nowhere and I needed it paid before the surgery date. I'd never taken out a loan online before so I was a bit wary. The application took a few minutes and the approval was quick. The money went through to my account the next working day, and the repayment schedule matches what I was shown at the start.

Hiive gets the job done for a short term loan and the money arrives quickly. The only thing to watch is the late payment fee, which is steeper than I'd like if you slip up. Otherwise the app is clear and the repayments are easy to manage.
I've taken out a fair few personal loans over the years so I know what a reasonable rate looks like. The one that stood out here was the APR being shown up front before I committed. It was a touch higher than the cheapest deal I found but the terms were clear.
