Great cottage, bit of a wait for the keys

Really good stay and the cottage was exactly what we wanted for a long weekend in the Lake District. Booking was simple on the site and the confirmation came straight away. Only niggle was the check in details took a day to arrive by email, so we were a bit stressed on the drive up. Kids loved the garden and the woodburner was lovely in the evenings, would book again.

The kitchen was a joy

What struck me most was how well equipped the kitchen was, with proper knives and a decent cast iron pan, which I did not expect in a holiday let. The booking process was straightforward and the owner was very gracious when we rang with a question. We shall certainly return to the Lake District with them.

Quick booking, great spot

Booked in about five minutes on the app, dates were easy to pick. Cottage in Cornwall was right by the beach and the hot tub worked a treat. Lads loved it. Definitely going back.

Cheaper than the hotel we looked at

Compared with the hotel we were looking at in Cornwall, the cottage worked out a fair bit cheaper for a family of five, and there was room for everyone. Checking out was a bit of a faff because the key safe code took two tries to work. Otherwise the cottage was exactly as the photos showed and the beds were comfy. Good value for a week away.

Better than the last place we tried

Better than the caravan park we stayed at last year, this cottage had a proper bed and a real shower. Booking was fast and I liked the map view. Nothing to fault.

First time booking a cottage

I booked my first ever cottage stay through the site and picked one in the Yorkshire Dales with a log burner. The confirmation email had the check in details which was handy. Everything was as described and the place was lovely.

Why we needed a cottage

We needed somewhere on one level as my husband has a bad knee now, and we had looked at a few places before choosing this one in the Cotswolds. Some of the others were quite a bit dearer and a couple had steps up to the front door. This cottage had a downstairs bedroom and a wet room, which suited us very well. The booking was simple and the owner was helpful with questions about access.

Needed a base for a wedding weekend

We needed a base near the venue for a wedding weekend in Somerset, and there were nine of us coming from different places. The cottage we chose had three bedrooms and a long table, which was perfect for the rehearsal dinner. Booking through the site was straightforward and the owner answered our questions about parking within the hour. Everyone got a good night's sleep.

The cleaning wasn't quite right

The first thing I noticed was that the bathroom had a bit of mould round the shower seal, which was a shame for a place that cost what it did. We asked the owner about it and they got someone out the next day, which was good. The rest of the place was nice though, and the garden was a good size for the kids. The booking itself was easy enough and the directions were clear.

Decent but the wifi was rubbish

Cottage was nice enough, clean and in a good spot near the coast in Devon. The booking part was easy though the price went up a bit between looking and paying which was annoying. Wifi kept dropping every hour so I couldn't do my uni work properly. Would maybe stay again but I'd check the wifi first.

booking was quick but check-in was late

Booking was quick, took about two minutes. Check-in was about an hour later than the time on the email though, so we sat in the car for a bit. Place was fine after that.

first go at a cottage stay

First time I've booked a holiday cottage so didn't know what to expect. Picked one in Northumberland with a hot tub and it was great once we got in. Signing up was a bit fiddly because the payment page kept timing out, but I got it done in the end. The cleaner had left everything spotless and the sofa was really comfy.

needed somewhere dog friendly

We needed somewhere that would take our two dogs at short notice after a cancellation elsewhere. Found a cottage in the Peak District with a fenced garden and the filter for pet friendly worked well. Dogs were welcome and the owner left a towel out for them. Really glad we found it.

Better value than the hotel

Compared with the Premier Inn we usually use for a Peak District trip, the cottage gave us a whole house for a similar nightly cost. We were a family of four and the separate bedrooms made a big difference. Booking was clear and the balance was taken automatically. We saved a fair bit on eating out because of the kitchen.

Hot tub cottage in the Cotswolds

We booked a cottage with a hot tub for an anniversary and the tub was spotless and hot within an hour of arriving. The welcome pack had local walks printed out too. Lovely.

needed a quiet place to work

I needed somewhere quiet to finish a dissertation over a fortnight, and the cottage in Northumberland had a proper desk and fast broadband. I wanted to get away from the flat and the noise of the city. The booking took a few minutes and the owner was quick to answer my question about the heating. It made a real difference to how much I got done.
