first order, pretty happy

First time ordering from them and I wasn't sure what to expect from a farm company online. The beef mince came frozen solid and was well packed with ice packs. Delivery window was a bit wide, so I had to wait in for most of the morning, which was annoying. Mince tastes properly beefy and the portion was bigger than I expected. Price is a touch higher than the supermarket but I'd order again.

Bought the monthly bundle

Went for the monthly bundle of pasture eggs and a couple of jars of their honey. Price is fair for what you get and the eggs were still good a week later. Delivery was a day later than the slot said, which was a small niggle, but the boxes arrived in one piece.

The cold brew concentrate

Got the cold brew concentrate in the 1 litre bottle. Dilutes well and the flavour holds up better than most I have tried, it doesn't go thin when you add ice. Bottle was a bit awkward to pour cleanly first time but I got the hang of it.

First order of the seasonal veg

I bought a seasonal veg box for the first time and was really impressed with the carrots and leeks, which had real flavour. Prices were fair for organic and the delivery slot I picked was honoured. I'll be ordering again when the autumn box comes round.

nice eggs, quick delivery

ordered the eggs on monday and they turned up thursday which was fine. yolks are really orange and the shells were clean. the checkout was easy, didn't need to make an account. might get the honey next time, my flatmate says it's loads better than the stuff in tesco.

needed a last minute gift

Needed something for my mum's birthday and this was the easiest option I could find online. The hamper looked just like the photos and she loved the chutney. Took a day longer than I hoped to arrive though.

decent value for the money

Good value, and that's the main reason I stuck with them. You get a fair amount for the money and the cheese is properly tasty. Packaging was a bit fiddly to open but nothing serious.

The wee cards in each box

What I liked most was the little card tucked into each box explaining where the meat came from, which I thought was very thoughtful. The bacon was lovely and the portions suited just the two of us. I've passed the details on to my daughter who now orders too.

Decent but I know better

Having cooked with a lot of pasture reared pork I can say this is decent but not the best I have had. The belly was a little fatty for my taste and the price is on the high side for what you get. Delivery was fine.

better than the supermarket

Compared to the supermarket version of the same thing, this was noticeably fresher and the flavour was far better. First order so I was a bit nervous about ordering online but the process was simple. Happy to go back.

Cheaper per kilo than the big names

Compared with the big delivery services this works out cheaper per kilo for the beef mince, and the portions are generous. Ordering took a few minutes once I had my account set up. Box came with ice packs still cold, so no complaints there.

quick order on my phone

Ordered the eggs and a jar of honey between meetings and it took about two minutes on my phone, which is rare. The site remembered my address from last time so I didn't have to type it all in again. Eggs arrived the next morning in a box that was still cold from the van. Honey was a bit sticky on the lid but nothing that matters. Will keep using them for the weekly top up.

better than the local butcher

Compared to the butcher down the road these are cheaper and the lamb chops were better trimmed. Ordered on my phone during the lunch break and it was done in under five minutes. Turned up the next morning, packed well and still cold.

Fair but not the cheapest

On the whole I would say it is a reasonable service and the produce is good. The price is a fair bit higher than the farm shop down the road for the same butter, so I'm not sure I'll stay with them. My order arrived a day late and the reply to my email about it took three days, which was disappointing.

Been ordering for years

Been a customer for years now and the quality hasn't dropped. The free range chicken is still the best I can get locally and the team sorted a missing item straight away when I rang. Always happy with my order.

Got the veg box for the flat

Got it because we kept throwing out veg and this seemed like a good way to stop. Box turned up on the day, stuff was fresh, a couple of bits were a bit bruised but fair enough for the price. Sign up was quick and I can skip weeks on the app which is handy when we go away. Would say the emails are a bit much but otherwise it's sorted.

better than the butcher round ours

Compared to the butcher round ours these came out cheaper and the lamb chops were trimmed much neater. Ordered on the app in a couple of taps and it showed me exactly when the van would be. Chops arrived on time, still chilled, and the paper they were wrapped in kept them from sticking together. Did have to ring them once because a text didn't come through, and they called back within the hour and sorted it. Good all round.

Needed something gentle on the stomach

I needed a bit of help after my husband's diagnosis and my doctor suggested I try something lighter. The team were very patient when I rang with questions about what to choose and they explained each option clearly. Everything arrived packed carefully and I have been very pleased with the quality of the produce.

Tried three others first

I tried three other meal kits before this one and this was the middle of the pack for taste. The portions were fine though, and the recipe cards were easy to follow. Delivery window was a bit wide so I had to wait in one afternoon.

Proper stone ground flour

I bake a lot so I needed stone ground flour that actually behaves, and this one gives a proper open crumb. The strong white is my go to. Delivery was spot on.

About pasturebird

Pasturebird is a UK brand that sells poultry and other meat from pasture-raised birds, with the focus on how the birds are kept and fed. The range centres on whole birds and cuts, and the company presents its product as a route to meat raised outdoors on grass rather than in intensive indoor sheds. Its customers are mostly households who want to know where their chicken comes from and who are willing to pay for higher welfare standards.

The company sells its products online and delivers them to customers across the country in chilled packaging. Its name and its focus on pasture-based farming set it apart from supermarket chicken sold under general labels.
