needed a loaf for a family visit

We needed a proper loaf in a hurry for a family visit at the weekend and this was the nearest place I could order from. The white tin loaf was fine but nothing special, a little dry by the second day. Order went through without trouble but I had to chase a confirmation email, which was a bit of a bother. Perfectly acceptable, though I might try somewhere else next time.

Good value for the quality

Compared the price against two other bakeries in town and these came out about the same for a loaf, but the quality is noticeably better. Bought a country loaf and a couple of fruit scones. The bread lasted the whole week without going stale, which is more than I can say for the supermarket stuff. Pickup was smooth and the staff were helpful. Good value for money as far as I'm concerned, and I'll keep buying from them.

First order and the pain au chocolat

The pain au chocolat was still warm when I opened the bag, which I didn't expect from an online order. I'd never ordered from them before so I wasn't sure what to expect from delivery, but it turned up the next morning and everything was in good nick. The chocolate was proper dark and the pastry flaked everywhere. Ordering was easy too, the checkout took about two minutes.

Needed something for a work do

Needed a platter of pastries for a work meeting and had about a day's notice. Looked at a couple of other suppliers first, but these had the quickest reply and an easy order form. Everything came out fresh and looked great on the table. Really pleased, would use again.

The seeded loaf is the one

I bake a lot at home so I'm fussy about bread. Got the seeded loaf from here and the crumb is open and moist with a proper chewy crust. The seeds are toasted, which I didn't expect and really like. Ordered it online and picked up without any bother. Solid choice for anyone who knows their bread.

Lovely bakery but a bit slow at the counter

The first thing I noticed was the smell of fresh bread as I walked in, which was lovely. I ordered a custard tart and a sourdough loaf for the weekend, and the girl behind the counter was very kind, though there was a queue of about six people and it took a while to be served. The tart was lovely and the loaf was just what I wanted. I'd come back, though I'd allow a bit more time at lunchtimes.

better than the supermarket

Tried these instead of the supermarket cakes and honestly they're way better, the chocolate eclairs especially. Ordering was quick on my phone. Bit more money than Tesco but worth it for a treat.

Tried a few places before settling on these

Had a look at a couple of other bakeries nearby before I went with these, mainly for the sourdough. The rye I got was really good, dense and tangy, and the crust was properly crisp. Only thing is it's a fair bit dearer than the place down the road, and the online order said pickup Thursday but the bread wasn't bagged until I asked. Still, I'll probably come back.

better than the chain bakery

Compared these with the big chain bakery on the high street and these were miles better. The croissants are flaky in a way the chain ones never are, and the pain au chocolat had proper chocolate in it. Ordered ahead and it was ready when I got there, no fuss. Will be coming here instead from now on.

needed a birthday cake fast

Needed a cake for my flatmate's birthday that same evening and the site had a slot left. Ordered a chocolate one on my phone, picked it up after work and it was honestly gorgeous. Tasted way better than the supermarket ones. Will 100% be back for my own birthday lol.

Lovely sponge, slightly pricey

Ordered a victoria sponge and a box of scones for a coffee morning and they went down a treat. The sponge was light and the jam was proper homemade. It's on the pricier side compared with the local shop, but the quality justifies it for a special occasion. Delivery to the hall was right on time, which I was grateful for.

the bread smell got me

The bread smell is what got me through the door first time, it's properly warm and yeasty. I bought a batch of bagels and a focaccia to share at a family dinner. Everything was fresh and the family ate the lot. Pickup was easy and the staff were chatty. Delighted, and I'm already planning the next order.

The pastries are insane

The pastries here are insane, the pain au raisin is the best I've had in this city. Got a few for the flat on Sunday morning and they were still warm when I picked them up. Super easy, will be back this weekend.

The cakes are a treat

I had a look at a couple of other cake shops before ordering, and these came across as a little more traditional in their approach. The lemon drizzle I bought was moist and nicely balanced. Only minor point is the online order form took a few attempts to submit on my tablet. Once it went through, pickup was no bother.

Loaf was OK but not quite right

I know my sourdough and this one was decent but not as I'd hoped from the description. The crust was good but the crumb was a bit dense, and it was not as tangy as the write-up made it sound. It was a fair price for what it was. Pickup was on time so no complaints there, just didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Reliable bakery and the rye is best

This is the bakery I trust for weekend bread, and the rye is the best in the area. Know what I'm getting every time because the quality doesn't drop. Ordering online is simple and the pickup slots have never let me down. Shops like this are rare round here.

not what the photos showed

I've ordered from a lot of bakeries online over the years so I know what a decent loaf looks like. The sourdough I got was pale and a bit flat compared with the photo on the site, and the crumb was tight. It was pricier than what I usually pay elsewhere for something similar. Took a couple of days to get a reply when I asked about it. Not the worst, but I won't be rushing back.

Lovely little bakery

Really lovely place, cakes are great and the staff are friendly. Ordered a victoria sponge for my nan's birthday and it was perfect. Easy to order on the site too.

really good cakes

Honestly these are some of the best cakes I've had in ages, the lemon drizzle especially. Ordered a box for the office and everyone was asking where they came from. Only small thing is the box is a bit flimsy so one corner got squashed but the cakes were fine. Would order again for sure, that's a yes from me.

Sourdough for the weekend

Got the sourdough and two croissants on the app on the way home. Collected from the shop Saturday morning, bread still warm and the crust was spot on. Quick order, no fuss. Will be back.
