Got a cheese box for my dad

Needed a gift for my dad's birthday and went with a cheese selection box. The checkout asked me to create an account first which was a faff, and it took a few tries to get the delivery slot I wanted. The cheese itself was nice and he was pleased with it.

Similar to the big dairy brands

Compared to the big national dairy brands this is very close on taste and texture, and the single cream is spot on for sauces. I know my dairy so I can tell the difference only in the slightly thinner cream. Delivery was reliable and the cool box did its job.

Still our go to dairy

Been buying from McQueens for the best part of ten years and I wouldn't go anywhere else now. The milk comes on time every single week and the cream is always thick and fresh. Staff on the phone are patient when I ring with a query about my standing order.

First order, a bit slow

Ordered a pint of their cream as a first-time customer and it turned up fine but the order confirmation email took a good while to arrive. The cream was lovely and rich. Hoping it's just a one-off hiccup.

Tried a few before settling on this

Tried three different dairies before deciding on this one for the weekly milk and eggs. The verdict is it's the best of the lot, the milk tastes like milk and the eggs have proper yolks. Delivery has never once been late.

Bought the cream for a trifle

Bought the double cream for a trifle. Tried two other places first and this was the best value for what you get. The cream whipped up nicely but the pot was a bit small for the price.

cheaper than the farm shop by miles

Compared with the farm shop in town this is a good deal less money for the same sort of cream and milk. I buy the semi skimmed and a pint of single cream every fortnight and the price has stayed put for ages. Delivery turns up when they say it will, and that's all I want from a dairy, really.

Tub was smaller than I thought

The yoghurt tub looks bigger on the site than it is in real life, which annoyed me a bit. The taste is fine and it kept well in the fridge. For the money I expected a bit more, so I'll probably switch to the bigger pots from the shop instead.

Far better than the supermarket version

I have been buying from McQueens for about eleven years now and I have tried the supermarket own brand butter and it simply does not compare, the flavour is flatter and it goes greasy when you warm it. Their salted is what I always reorder. The site is easy enough and the box comes well packed.

Their unsalted butter for baking

Ordered the unsalted butter for a batch of shortbread and it's the only one I'll use for baking now. The taste is clean and it creams beautifully. The delivery window was a bit broad, a four hour slot, which meant I had to rearrange my afternoon.

the cheese board was a hit

I tried a few local farm shops and a big online grocer before settling on this one, and the thing that stood out was how the cheeses were actually labelled with the dairy and the age. The Lancashire was creamy and the Cheshire had a proper crumble. Everything arrived cold and the order was spot on, so I'll be back.

My usual order for the summer

I needed a reliable supplier for cream and butter over the summer months when my usual local shop closed for refurbishment, and I am glad I found this one. The cream held up well through the warm weather and the butter arrived firm. Ordering is straightforward and I have had no complaints at all.

A plain and dependable supplier

I required a dependable supplier for our household's dairy, having grown tired of the inconsistency from our previous source, and this company has been a welcome change. The butter is of a fine quality, though I did find the price a touch higher than I had anticipated. Deliveries have been prompt and the staff on the telephone were patient when I had a query about my standing order. I am content to continue.

Needed a cheese for a dinner party

I needed something decent for a dinner party and didn't have time to go into town. Ordered their mature cheddar and a Stilton on a Monday for the Saturday, and it turned up in good nick. The cheddar was a bit milder than I expected for mature but the guests were happy. Would order again for sure.

Same butter every time

Been ordering the same butter for years and it's the one I'd go back to. Reorders are quick on the account and the price has crept up a little but not unreasonably. The delivery van is always on schedule, which is what matters to me.

Quick order but the tracking was off

Ordered a tub of their clotted cream on Tuesday lunchtime and it arrived Thursday morning in a cool box with ice packs still frozen solid, which was a nice surprise honestly. Only niggle is the tracking said out for delivery at 7am and it turned up after 2pm so I was stuck waiting in. Would still order again, the cream is lovely.
