Nicer than the supermarket version

Went with this over the bottled teriyaki I usually grab at the supermarket. This one tastes way less sugary and actually like the real thing. Packed fine and came quicker than I thought. Only quibble is the postage made it a bit dearer than I'd like, but I'd still get it again.

not as good as the Japanese shop in town

Tried this against the Japanese grocer near me and the local shop had fresher rice crackers and a better range of pickles. The ones from here were fine but a bit stale around the edges. Ordering was simple enough and the parcel came on time. Probably not one I'll switch to.

Ordered for my flatmate's birthday

I needed a gift for my flatmate who loves Japanese snacks so I went for a mixed box. Ordering was dead easy and the box turned up looking nice. Some of the biscuits were a bit crushed though, which was annoying. Taste is great tho.

Far better than the usual supermarket sauce

Compared with the soy sauce I've been buying from the big chains, this brewed one has a much deeper flavour and less of that salty bite. I've been cooking Japanese food at home for years so I notice these things. The bottle came well packed and the ordering process was simple enough.

got the ramen kit for a mate

Needed something to make a proper ramen night for my mate's birthday and this kit had everything in it. Ordered on a Monday, it was at my door by Thursday, which was quick. The broth base is rich and the noodles are chewy in a good way. Didn't have to hunt around for missing bits either, the instructions were clear and it was all in one box. Mate loved it, we'll be ordering again for sure.

the customer team sorted my query quickly

What impressed me most was that I emailed about a substitution on my order and had a full, polite reply within the hour, which is more than I can say for some shops. The matcha I wanted was out of stock so they suggested a similar one and explained the difference clearly. I was very happy with the way it was handled and the tea itself was lovely.

A bit steep for the size

The detail that struck me first was how small the tub of furikake was for the money. The seasoning itself is tasty and goes well on rice. Delivery was fine and the packing kept everything intact. For the price I expected more in the pack.

First order, pretty happy

Had never ordered from here before so went for the starter bundle to see what it was like. The stuff was good quality and the mirin tasted proper. The order page took a while to load on my phone though. Would give it another go.

Honestly really good

Yeah this is a good place. Ordered some ramen packs and a bag of nori, got it all in a couple of days and everything was fresh. The noodles cook up well and the seaweed is crisp, not soggy like the stuff I got before. Would order again no bother, cheers.

Been buying from them for years

I have been a customer for a long time now and I have bought the same green tea more times than I can count. The quality has stayed consistent and the tin arrives sealed and fresh. Ordering through the account is simple. I am happy to keep returning.

Needed a proper gyoza sauce

I needed a decent dipping sauce for a dinner party and didn't fancy making it from scratch. The ponzu was zingy and balanced, the way it should be. Ordering took a minute and it reached me before the weekend.

The matcha powder is spot on

Ordered the ceremonial grade matcha after comparing a couple of other shops for a while. The colour is a proper bright green and it whisks up smooth with no clumps. Delivery was tracked and the tin arrived in good nick. Happy to pay this for something I drink every morning.

Good, bit slow to dispatch

Really good stuff, the sake they sent was smooth and the bottle was well wrapped. Only thing is it took three days to dispatch even though it said one. Still, arrived fine and I'd order again.

lovely first order

Really pleased with what turned up, the tea and the rice crackers were both lovely. The site was easy to use and told me when things were on their way. I'd say it is the best place I have found for this kind of thing in the UK.

The sesame oil is the real deal

I bought the toasted sesame oil and it smells nutty straight away when you open it. A few drops is enough for a whole stir fry, so it goes further than I expected. Packaging was tidy and nothing leaked.

Exactly what i needed for the weekly shop

I needed somewhere to buy Japanese pantry staples without paying high-street prices for a tiny bottle of mirin. The basket came to a good bit less than my usual supermarket run for the same things, and the miso paste lasted ages. Checkout was quick and the order turned up when they said it would. Nothing I'd complain about for the money.

Good stuff but the postage stung a bit

The first thing I noticed was that the box was bigger than I expected for what was inside, which I suppose is just how they pack things. The pickles and the sesame seeds were fine and the flavours are authentic. Delivery took a good five working days though and the postage added quite a bit to the total, so I'd only order when I needed a few things together.

Better value than my usual shop

Compared the price of the sushi rice with what I normally pay locally, and this came out cheaper per kilo once you add up the postage. The grains cook up sticky in the right way. Ordering was straightforward and it arrived on time. Sensible buy.

Would order again

Really good first experience, ordered the starter bundle and everything turned up in about three days. The rice crackers were the best bit, nothing like the ones from the supermarket. Easy checkout too.
