Direct GB Home and Garden

First time ordering from here and the solar fairy lights were the thing I wanted most for the summer. They charge in the day and stay on for a good few hours at night, which was the detail I cared about. Packaging was neat and the lights came fully working out of the box.

I had been looking at a few of the big chain stores for a new wooden storage bench for the hallway and this one was a fair bit less money for something that looks just as good. The bench arrived well packed and the finish is smooth, though one of the screws was a little tight to start. It's sat by the front door now and it's been very useful for shoes and bags.

Got a large ceramic pot for my fiddle leaf fig and it's a lovely shape. Has a drainage hole, which I was worried about with some of the cheaper ones. Came wrapped really well and nothing was chipped. Perfect.

I'd tried a couple of budget hose connectors from elsewhere that split within weeks, so I went for these instead. They're a noticeably heavier metal and the seal is still tight after a year of use. Order came quickly and the instructions were clear enough for a first time fitter.

Bought a set of dining chairs for the conservatory and they are comfortable and well finished. The seat pads could be a bit firmer for longer meals, but they are fine for the price. The delivery came in a single box and the chairs were easy to assemble without any missing parts.

Compared three sites before picking this one for a pressure washer hose. The fittings on this one are a proper brass type rather than plastic, which was the detail that sold it for me. It's held pressure well through a full summer of use. Delivery was on time and the box was tidy.

We needed some extra kitchen storage after the house move, and these baskets have turned out very handy. The wire is strong and the finish looks smart next to the rest of the units. Ordering was easy enough and I was able to add a note for the delivery driver, which was appreciated. Everything arrived as described and I've been very pleased with the result.

Got the wall mounted hose reel after our old one cracked in the frost. It works fine and the hose rolls back in without tangling, which was the point. The hose itself is a bit stiff in cold weather though, and the fixings took longer than the leaflet suggested to get straight.

Got sent a different sized planter to what I ordered and had to sort a return. The site said to print a label but the label didn't scan at the post office so I had to go back and forth. Eventually it got sorted but it took the best part of a week. Would not bother with them again for anything big.

Found the same wicker storage box cheaper here than at the big chain I usually use, which is what made me try them. The weave is tight and the lid fits well. The box took a while to arrive but it was well packed, so I don't mind too much. For what I paid I was happy enough.

Honestly it's so nice, we got it for the living room because the old one was minging and the dog had got at it. Colour is spot on and it's soft under your feet. Ordered it on a Sunday and it turned up Wednesday, which was fine for me. Would totally get it again.

Solid set and worth buying, the metal frame feels sturdy and the cushions are thick enough. Put it together on my own in an afternoon, instructions were clear. Only thing is the parasol base wasn't in the box.

I'd been looking at the big high street chains for a set of outdoor cushions and this came out a bit cheaper for similar fabric. The cushions are a touch thinner than the ones I had before, but they're fine for chairs. Checkout was quick and I liked that I could see the dispatch date before paying.

Our old shed lock broke and I needed something that would take a decent padlock without rusting in the damp. This one has held up well over the first few months and it was the cheapest I could find with proper weatherproofing. The fittings are simple, two screws and a bit of patience. The packaging was sturdy and nothing arrived dented. Great value for a simple job and I'd order from them again.

We needed something sturdy for the patio after the old one split in the wet. This bench is well made, the slats are a good thick hardwood and the joints are tight. Arrived in good order and the assembly was straightforward with the picture guide. Very pleased with it.

Bought a throw for the sofa and it's alright, quite warm and nice to snuggle under. The colour is a bit more grey than it looked on my phone though, so not quite what I pictured. Would probably still buy again if I knew what I was getting.

The thread count on the cotton sheets is higher than I expected for the money, and you can feel it straight away when you get into bed. I've bought bedding from loads of places over the years and this is the first set that didn't pill after a few washes. Fabric is the thing I notice most with home stuff, and this one passes.

The blackout curtains were creased all down one side when they arrived, looks like they'd been folded in the box a while. Hanging them and a steam from the iron sorted most of it. Not a massive deal but I'd expected them to arrive pressed.

This is good value for a shed of this size and it went up without any real trouble. The base is level and the doors close properly. Delivery was a bit slower than the site suggested, a couple of days late, but the driver was helpful and it arrived in one piece.

Bought the cordless hedge trimmer for the back hedge and it cuts through my privet with no bother. Battery lasts about an hour of proper use, which is more than I expected for the money. Blades stayed sharp after a few months and the safety switch feels solid.
