Cotswold Outdoor

I needed a decent waterproof jacket as my old one had finally given up on our walks along the coast path, and my husband has been nagging me to get something properly breathable. I found the site easy to navigate and the size guide was clear, which I appreciated. The jacket arrived well packed and fits perfectly over my fleece. I'm very pleased with it and would happily order from them again.

Needed a camp chair for a festival and this one was cheap enough to not worry if it got wrecked. Ordered Friday, here Monday. It folds small enough for my bag and feels sturdy enough to sit in all day.

I needed replacement boots for the Dales walks since my old pair split along the sole. I've been buying from them for years and the sizing has always been reliable. Ordered on a Monday and they were on the doorstep by Thursday, no fuss.

Bought a pair of trekking poles to replace my old ones that had bent on a descent. They're solid, the locks hold well and the grips are comfortable on long days. The only thing is the delivery took longer than I'd hoped, around five days, but the poles arrived in good order.

This is the best of the lot I looked at for a sleeping bag for the Scottish trip. I compared three other brands and this one had the warmest rating for the price. The zip is smooth and the stuff sack compresses it well. Really happy with it.

The hip belt was the surprise, it's padded properly and sits well on my hips without digging in. Ordered on a Friday and it turned up Monday. Haven't had it out in the rain yet but the fit is spot on.

Compared with the big outdoor chain in town this was a fair bit cheaper for the same head torch, and the checkout was quicker too. Didn't have to make an account. Happy with it.

I compared a few options before buying a camping stove and this one was mid-priced compared with the rest. It lights quickly and the flame control is good. The order arrived a day later than the tracking said, which was a bit annoying, but otherwise it's a decent piece of kit.

Bought a pack of merino walking socks for the kids' hiking trip. They're comfortable and the wool feels good, but at this price I expected a bit more. Delivery was quick and the order was right first time. For the money I think you can find similar elsewhere, so I'd check a few shops before paying this much again.

First time ordering from them and the thing that got me was how quick the checkout was, I'd saved my details and it took about two minutes from basket to confirmed. Stuff turned up the next working day, packed well and nothing missing. Would order again for sure, the site is easy enough to find your way round.

The fleece is ridiculously warm for how thin it is, I wore it under a shell all through a cold weekend in Snowdonia and never felt the cold. Ordered it Sunday and it turned up Wednesday, no complaints. Good stuff.

Compared with my old headlamp from a rival this one feels much cheaper and the strap is flimsy. The beam is weaker than I'd like for a proper night on the hill. I've been hiking for twenty years so I know what good kit looks like, and this isn't it. The price was fine but I'd not buy it again.

The lightweight tent is great, it sets up in about five minutes and packs down small enough to fit in my bag with room to spare. I'd been looking at a few others but this one was easily the best value for what it does, and the groundsheet feels tougher than I expected. Ordering was a bit fiddly because the size dropdown kept resetting, so I'd ask them to fix that. Delivery was quick and the box was well protected.

Got a pair of walking trousers for my first proper hike and I'm really pleased. The fabric dries fast after a splash and the zip pockets are a good size. Ordering was easy and they were here in three days.

Bought the 35 litre rucksack for a quick weekend in the Peaks and it's been brilliant so far. Ordered Tuesday night, arrived Thursday. Straps are comfy even after a few hours on my back and the hip belt pockets are handy for my phone and snacks. Only just got back so haven't tested it in proper rain yet but will update.

I would say these walking boots are excellent value and I have worn them every day on our trip to the Lakes. The fit was spot on and I didn't need to break them in, which was a relief. Ordering was simple and they reached us promptly.

This is a solid pack and I've used it on a few long days, so my view is it's a good one. The shoulder straps are well padded and the frame carries weight nicely. Shipping was quick and the packaging was tidy, though it does cost more than similar packs I've seen elsewhere.

Compared to the sports shop in town this was way better, the same tent was about the same price but they had it in stock and it came in two days. Customer chat answered my question about the pegs within a few minutes. Only niggle is the box was a bit squashed on one corner, but the tent itself was fine.

Compared with the high street shop this was a good bit cheaper for the same head torch. Ordering was simple and it turned up the next day. The beam is bright and the battery lasts well on a night walk.

I needed a decent rain jacket fast as we were leaving for the Welsh coast the next morning and my old one leaks at the seams. Ordered it at night and it arrived before lunch, which I didn't expect. Hood is roomy and the cuffs seal well in a downpour.
