Boxt

We needed a way to get our weekly shop delivered after my mum moved in with us and the trips to the supermarket just stopped working for us. I've used Boxt for about six years now and the boxes have always turned up when they said they would. The packing is sensible, the veg is usually decent, and when something's missing they sort it out with a text the same day. Sorted.

I got the seasonal fruit box for my dad's birthday and it was a lovely surprise. The pears were perfectly ripe and the strawberries were actually sweet, which I didn't expect in March. Everything arrived in one piece and the little handwritten note was a nice touch.

We needed something to take the pressure off after my husband's hip op, so we set up a weekly delivery. Most of it has been fine and the drivers have been kind. The one problem was a week when two items came short and the refund took a few days to show up on the card.

Compared to the big delivery apps, this works out a bit cheaper for the same food, and the delivery fee is lower too. I've been ordering from them for over a year now. The only downside is the choice of brands is smaller than I'd like.

First time using them and I was surprised how quick signing up was. Entered my postcode, picked a box and the first delivery was booked before I'd finished my tea. Delivery turned up on the day and everything looked as it should.

I would say Boxt is a very dependable choice for anyone who finds the big supermarket websites difficult to use. The ordering process was straightforward and the customer support team were patient when I rang with a question about my account. My weekly delivery has never been late and the staff who bring it are always courteous. I've not had cause to complain at all.

I ordered the veg box to try for a month and it's been a solid experience. The produce was fresh and the potatoes weren't green or sprouting like some places I've had. Only thing is the swap options are a bit limited so I can't always get the things I'd like.

The vegetables came looking properly fresh, the carrots still had their tops and the leeks weren't slimy at all. I've had boxes from other places that were limp by day three. The only thing I'd flag is that one week the substitutions didn't match what I'd ticked, a courgette swapped for aubergine, but the site let me see that before the delivery went out so it wasn't a big deal.

Delivery was late again this week, slot was 6-8 and it turned up gone 9. Driver didn't text or anything so I was stood in the hall wondering. Ordering is fine, the app is easy enough on my phone. Price is ok but not cheap. Emailed customer services and they took till Thursday to reply. Not sure I'll stick with them.

I compared a few of the meal delivery places before picking this one and the booking was much easier than the supermarket slots I'd been stuck with. You pick your delivery day and it's just there. Didn't have to refresh the page at midnight.
