Splendid Spoon

I needed to stop cooking every night after work because I was running out of ideas and patience. Compared a few meal services and this one had the best range of dishes without being too fussy. The bolognese is my go to and the box arrived bang on the day.

I'd tried two other meal kit places before this and the difference is the recipes. The other two felt like they'd been designed by a spreadsheet, whereas this one has actual flavour and the instructions were clear. Took me about twenty five minutes to cook the first one, which is roughly what it said on the card. The veg was fresh and nothing was wilted. Glad I switched.

Bought the family bundle to feed the four of us for the week and it's a sensible amount of food for the money. Everything came in the right quantities and nothing went off in the fridge. The sauces are a nice bonus and my teenagers have stopped complaining about dinner, which is saying something.

got the protein pots for my gym week and honestly they're so good?? the chicken one tastes like actual food not like gym food, and they're filling. the box came with ice packs and everything was still cold when i got it, and the portions are decent for what i paid. probably my new go to for the week, will be ordering again.

Compared to the big supermarket delivery I usually use, this worked out a bit cheaper for the same number of meals and the food felt fresher. Less packaging too, which I noticed. Just the one box and it fitted in the fridge without me moving anything around.

Honestly this is the best value I've found for a weekly meal box in the UK. The price per portion beat the two others I looked at and the quality holds up, the meat is good and the veg has been fresh every time. Customer service answered my question about allergens within a few hours. Delivery has been reliable across three orders and the packaging is recyclable, which I appreciate. I'd say it's worth the money.

Compared with the supermarket delivery I was using, this works out a bit cheaper for the same number of meals and the food seems fresher. Ordering was simple, the site let me pick the bundle and the delivery day in one go. Portions are decent for the money, and the cottage pie fed me two lunches. Nothing I'd complain about, I'll keep ordering it.

Ordered the big batch soup pack for the freezer and it's honestly good value, works out cheaper per portion than the supermarket ready meals I was buying before. Arrived cold and in one piece, the carrot and coriander is my favourite so far. Portions are generous, I got about six meals out of it and didn't feel short-changed at all.

The chilli sauce that came in the box is the thing I'd order again on its own, it's properly hot without being rubbish. I'd tried plenty of shop bought ones and this beats them.

Needed something quick to eat after lectures and my flatmate kept on about this. Ordered on the app in about two mins and it was right there in my timeline, the curry was lush and I ate it before it went cold.

I've cooked soup from scratch for years so I know a decent one when I taste it. The leek and potato is thick, well seasoned, and tastes like something made in a proper kitchen. Good stuff.

I've been ordering the cottage pie for years now and it's still the same lovely recipe I first tried. The tub arrives frozen solid every time and I just pop it in the oven. Staff have always been helpful when I've had a question about a delivery, and the price has crept up only a little over the years.

Needed something to stop me spending a fortune on lunch at work every day. The batch soup works out much cheaper per portion than the shop, and it lasts ages in the freezer.

The protein pots are so good for my gym week, I'm not even joking. They're filling and don't taste like cardboard. Ordering was dead easy on the app and everything turned up on time. Got my mate hooked too.
