Compared with the coffee from the big chain on the high street, this is a good deal richer and less sharp. I was sceptical at first but the bag I ordered has been a pleasure. Picked up the washed Ethiopian from them, a single origin with a bright, floral cup and a clean finish. I brew mine as a pour over most mornings and it holds up well at the proper ratio. Bought the Colombian micro lot as a change from my usual Brazilian. Red apple and caramel in the cup, sweet and balanced, and it works well as espresso as well as filter. Beans were fresh and the bag had a one-way valve. Good stuff, no complaints.
Honestly the tasting notes on the bag are what got me. It said dark chocolate and orange peel and it really does taste like that, I'm not just being polite. I'd tried two other places before this one and both were fine but flat. This is the first one I've actually looked forward to in the morning. Ordering was easy and the packaging kept the beans fresh.
