Kugans

I've been ordering from them for about eleven years now and they've never let me down. The butter shortbread is the same as it always was, crumbly and buttery without being greasy. Deliveries have always come on time and well packed, even in the snow last winter. I'd happily keep ordering from them for as long as I'm able.

I ordered a selection of their farmhouse cheeses for a dinner party, and they arrived in excellent condition, well chilled. The Lancashire was particularly fine, and the tasting notes they included were helpful and not overdone. I am quite satisfied with the service throughout and would happily order again for the next gathering.

The flour here is the best I have used for pastry, light and consistent. I bake a lot and know what a good plain flour should behave like, so I am particular. Ordering was simple and the bag arrived fresh.

I needed a reliable source for loose leaf tea for my shop, and this company has supplied me consistently. The invoices are clear and the tea is consistent batch to batch, which is what I require.

Got the hot sauce for my flatmate's birthday and he loved it. It's properly hot but there's flavour behind it too. Took a while to arrive though, like nearly a fortnight, so nearly forgot about it.

Compared with the supermarket chicken stock I normally grab, this one has real depth and no weird additives. Packaging was sturdy and it arrived well packed. Bit dearer but it tastes much better.

Compared to the supermarket version, the coffee here tastes far fresher and the beans have a proper roast date printed on. I have bought from them for years and the price has crept up a little, but I still stick with them.

I needed decent smoked salmon for a Christmas brunch and the local deli wasn't stocking anything worth buying. This was cut thin, properly silky, and had a clean smoke without tasting of chemicals. Exactly what I wanted.

What stands out to me is the honey from their own hives, it tastes nothing like the runny stuff from the big shops. I have been ordering for about six years now and it has never disappointed.

I needed a vegan cheese that actually melts for a lasagne, and most of them go rubbery. This one melts properly and tastes clean. I know my plant based products well, and this is one of the better ones I have tried.

Ordered the oat milk and a pack of their granola on Tuesday night, checkout took seconds. Delivery was a bit slow, it turned up the following Monday instead of Friday. Taste is good though.

Picked up a 1kg bag of their house blend coffee after seeing it was about a pound less per kilo than the brand I usually get. It's a bit lighter than I'd like, and the grind setting on my machine needed adjusting, but it's a fair bit cheaper for the same cups. Delivery came next day in a box, nothing damaged, so I'll probably order it again to save a few quid.

I shall say straight away that the Yorkshire tea selection was excellent and arrived promptly. The staff answered my questions on which blend suits a delicate stomach, and I am very pleased with the whole thing.

Ordered the sourdough loaf and a jar of their chilli jam. Loaf arrived fine, bit squashed on one end but still good toast. Jam was lovely though, would get it again tbh.

The first thing I noticed was how small the jars were, much smaller than I expected for the price. The marmalade itself is proper thick with big bits of peel, and I liked that. Delivery was a bit slow though, took about a week, and I did wonder whether it had been posted at all.

This is the best olive oil I have used in years, peppery and fresh without being harsh. I cook with it most days and know my oils well, so I am not easily impressed.

Compared with the other meal kit I tried, these ingredients are fresher and the portions are more sensible. The recipe cards were clear too. Price is a bit higher but I think it is worth it.

What I noticed first was how active the starter was when it arrived, bubbling within hours of feeding. I have tried a few over the years and this is the one I keep coming back to. The instructions are sensible too.

Compared with the brand I usually buy, the granola here is less crunchy and a bit sweeter than I like. Ordered on my phone and the checkout was quick. Would try a different flavour.

Needed some cheap snacks for the lads on a stag, and this worked out ok. Everything arrived in one box, quick delivery and the bars went down a treat. Good value for a big order.
