KBK Meal Prep

I started a new job with a long commute and kept skipping lunch, so I needed something I could just grab from the fridge. Tried a couple of other meal prep places first but this one had the most variety. Only niggle is the delivery window is a bit wide, but the food is good.

I'd been buying ready meals from the big supermarket for years, and I have to say these are a considerable step up from those. The portions are sensible, the vegetables still have some bite to them, and the sauces actually taste of something. I'm not sure I'll go back to the old routine now that I've tried these properly, and my husband has started asking when the next delivery is due.

This was my first time ordering from them and I wasn't sure what to expect. The sign up took a while because the site kept asking me to confirm my address. Once it was sorted the delivery was fine and the meals were tasty, though a couple of the portions were smaller than I'd hoped. I'd probably give them another go but I'd check the menu carefully first.

Ordered the chicken rice box on a Sunday night for the week ahead and the portions are bigger than I expected, which is great for my early shifts at the hospital. Reheats well too.

We signed up because my wife had a knee op and cooking was off the table for weeks. Needed something reliable we could just heat. Everything arrived on time and the instructions were clear. Good for us at a difficult time.

Really happy with these, they save me so much time in the week. Only thing is the lids are a bit fiddly to get off when the boxes are cold from the fridge. Otherwise the food is fresh and tastes like proper food.

Having worked in a commercial kitchen, I know what good prep looks like, and the way these are portioned and chilled is spot on. Compared with a standard supermarket ready meal, these hold their texture far better. Solid all round.

Got the chicken tikka one and the rice was lovely but the sauce was way too salty for me tbh. Portions are decent though and the box kept everything separate which I liked. Might try a different one next time round.

Compared to the local takeaway we used to order from, this is far more consistent and the veg is always fresh. We've been customers for a good while now and the quality has held up. The only thing I'd tweak is the price creeping up a little.

Bought the veggie curry to try and it was properly good, rich sauce and the rice was not mushy. Compared it with two other meal prep boxes I had tried before and this one was clearly the best. Portion was generous enough for a lunch and a snack.

Ordered the beef chilli box on my lunch break and it arrived just as I was about to give up on food. Spicy but not too hot, and loads of beans. Chucked it in the microwave at work and was happy all afternoon. Will be ordering again.

Easily the best of the meal prep services I tried this year. The others were either too small or tasted like cardboard. These are filling, the chicken is properly cooked, and the boxes keep well in the fridge for the whole week.

Compared to the cheaper meal kits I looked at, this costs more per meal, which is the main drawback. Food is lovely though, the pasta bake was really good and the rest of the week's meals were tasty too. Just wish there was a student discount.

Got the lean protein box to see if it would help with lunches. Compared to the others I tried, the sauce was a bit thin and I'd have liked more of it. Everything else was fine and the delivery was spot on.

Verdict is still the same after all this time, they are excellent. I have been a subscriber since they first started and the standard has never dropped. Menu changes keep things interesting and the staff on the phone are always helpful.

I needed something easy to heat after my hip operation, as standing at the cooker was too much. The meals are well portioned and the instructions are clear enough. Delivery came on the day I was told.

Verdict: really good, and I say that as someone who is fussy about food. Ordered the Thai green chicken and it wasn't soggy or bland. Would order again next week.

Had a hectic week with uni deadlines and needed food that didn't need cooking. Signed up on the app in about two minutes. The salmon one was lovely and the portion was just right.
