Black Bee Honey

I bought the comb honey as a present for my brother-in-law, who is rather particular about these things. The comb was intact and the honey had clearly been left to drain properly, which I thought was thoughtful. The delivery window was a little vague, and I did wonder whether it would arrive in time, but it did.

Lovely honey as always, I've been ordering for years. The comb honey is the bit I look forward to most, you really can't get that from the supermarket. Nothing has changed in all that time, which is exactly why I keep coming back.

I needed a jar of the clover honey for a gift on Saturday, so I ordered on the Tuesday. What turned up was a different variety and it took the best part of a week, which didn't leave time to sort it before the weekend. Getting it swapped meant messaging them and waiting a couple of days for a reply, which was a bit of a faff.

Honey was good, not much to complain about really. Ordered on a Monday night from my phone and it turned up Thursday, which was fine. The jar was a bit smaller than I expected for the price but the flavour is nice and it's not as runny as the stuff from the supermarket. Would get it again.

Got the heather honey after seeing it on someone's Instagram. Tastes proper, a bit thick and almost like toffee, we went through it fast. Delivery took a bit longer than they said but it turned up in one piece, so no real complaints from me.

Compared to the big supermarket honey this is way richer and tastes like something I actually want on toast. I ordered from the site on my phone during my lunch break and it was dead easy, just a few taps. Came packed well and nothing was damaged. Been buying it for the kids' porridge ever since.

I've been buying from them for about six years now, and compared with the big supermarket honey this is far richer and it doesn't go grainy in the cupboard quite as quickly. The price has crept up a little over time but the quality hasn't dropped, and they still send a little note in the box every time.

Honestly the honey is lovely, the wildflower one tastes really fresh. It's a bit more expensive than the stuff in Tesco though, so I only buy it as a treat. Ordering was easy and the parcel came quickly, just wish the jars were a bit bigger for the money.

What got me was that the label says which apiary and the month it was harvested, which none of the others I looked at did. I'd compared three other brands first and they were all vague. This one felt like I actually knew where it came from.

I keep bees on an allotment and wanted something unfiltered for show-quality comparison, the supermarket stuff is heated and blended too much. The jar I got was properly set and tasted of the spring flowers, you can tell it hasn't been messed with. Shipping was well packed and the honey was in perfect nick when it turned up.
