The workouts are fine

The workouts I picked were the strength ones, and they do what they say on the box, which is fine. Price is on the high side for what it is, and I'd have preferred a bit more variety in the cardio sessions. The app is easy enough to use and I haven't had any crashes.

Needed something I could do at home

Work has me on late shifts and the gym was never open when I could go, so I needed something I could do at home. Signed up on my phone during a break and started the same night. Workouts are short, which is what I wanted. Would buy again.

Bought it for the early mornings

Needed something for the early mornings before the kids are up, so I can squeeze a workout in. Sign up was quick on my phone and the first session was ready straight away. Sometimes the audio cuts out for a second but it's a small niggle. Good enough for me.

The best option I tried

This is the best option I tried, after comparing a couple of other apps and a local class. The price sits in the middle of the three and the workouts felt more varied to me. I've been using it for a few months and haven't got bored yet.

Quick to start on my phone

Downloaded it on the train and was into a session before my stop. The workouts run smoothly on mobile and the video is clear. Only gripe is it wanted me to allow notifications before I could even start, which was a bit pushy. Otherwise fine for a quick session.

The running coach feature

I bought the running coach add on after a knee injury meant I had to scale back, and I was keen to see if it would help me build up slowly. The plan adjusts sensibly when I miss a session, which I did more often than I'd have liked. The price is reasonable for a personal plan. Support answered my query about the plan settings quickly and politely.

Needed a plan for the gym

I needed a proper plan for the gym because I kept turning up with no idea what to do. Compared a few options including a friend's spreadsheet and two apps before picking this. The sessions give you exact sets and reps, which made it much easier to stop wandering around. Price is fair and the app has been reliable so far.

still going after several years

I've been with them for a good few years now and it's still the one I come back to. The routines change enough that I don't get bored, and the coaching voice has never grated on me. I signed up when it was a much simpler app and it has grown a fair bit since, mostly for the better. Keep it up.

sessions are quick

Each session is about twenty minutes which is perfect on the bus. Sign up was quick, just email and a password. The only thing is the timer sometimes lags behind the video so you're a few seconds off, but it's not a big deal once you get used to it.

Cheaper than a personal trainer

Compared with a personal trainer this is a fraction of the price, though you don't get someone watching your form in person. I found the instructions clear enough and the progressions made sense as I got stronger. The app did freeze once during a session and the fix took a while to come through. Pricing is fair and it's a sensible way to keep going without a trainer.

Solid training plan

The workouts are well structured and the progression is sensible, which is what matters most to me as someone who has trained for years. Rest periods and rep ranges are where I'd expect them. The audio coaching is fine for warm ups though I skip it for heavier sets. Good value compared with paying for individual programmes.

Better than the plan I was using

Compared with the printed plan I was using before, this is much easier to follow because it tells you what to do each session. Prices are fair and I've not had to pay extra for anything. The workouts are short enough to fit around work and the coaching voice is clear without being annoying.

the rest timer is a bit much

The rest timer is a bit much for me, always seems to be longer than I want between sets. Otherwise I like it, the workouts are short and I can do them in my room.

Worth it if you stick with it

It's a fair price for what you get, though I wouldn't call it cheap. The workouts are pitched right for someone who's been lifting for a few years and the progression feels sensible. My only real gripe is the app crashed twice mid session and I lost my place, which was annoying when I was mid circuit. Would probably still pay again if it stays this stable.

better value than my old gym

Compared with my old gym membership this is roughly half the cost each month, and I'm not paying for a building I never used. The workouts do what they say and I've kept going for months. Signing up took a couple of minutes and I didn't have to speak to anyone.

I tried a few others first

Compared with the other fitness apps I tried this one feels more gentle and less pushy, which suits me. The workouts are easy to follow and the pace is comfortable. Long standing user here.

The strength plan suits me well

I took out the annual plan at the start of the year, mainly because my knees didn't care for the gym any more and a friend suggested it. The sessions are clearly explained and the audio cues are a great help when I'm at home alone. I was rather pleased that the difficulty can be adjusted without fuss. Customer service was courteous when I had a question about my billing, and they sorted it out the same day.

About Freeletics

Freeletics is a fitness and nutrition company that offers training programmes through a mobile app, built around bodyweight exercises that can be performed with little or no equipment. Its app provides guided workouts for strength, endurance and mobility, alongside coaching content and a personalised nutrition programme that users can follow alongside their training. The company was founded in Germany and has built its reputation on a community-led approach, with many users completing workouts together through group challenges and shared training features.

Freeletics sells its programmes primarily as a digital subscription, so users access their plans and workouts online rather than through physical shops. Its customers are people who want structured training they can follow at home, outdoors or at the gym, and the app is designed to adapt as a user's fitness improves.
