App is quick

Honestly the first thing I noticed was how fast the issue loaded on my phone, like no waiting at all. Signing up took two mins and I didn't have to pay for the free preview bit. Reading on the bus is easy and you can save pages, though the search is a bit clunky. Would happily pay for it again.

Compared with buying at the newsagent

Compared with buying my usual weekly at the newsagent, this works out a fair bit more expensive per issue. I do like not having to walk to the shop and having it ready on the tablet. The reader is clear and the pages turn quickly. The only thing I would change is the way the app remembers which issues I have read.

Tried a few before settling on this

I tried a few other apps before settling on this one, mainly for the archive of my knitting magazine. The reading experience is good and the issues load without any trouble on my laptop. The price is reasonable for what you get, though a couple of the titles I wanted cost a bit more here than on another site. Signing up and managing the subscription was easy enough, and I have not had any billing surprises so far.

Got the annual digital bundle

I bought the annual bundle of the cooking title after comparing it with a couple of other apps. The archive is much bigger than the others I looked at, so it's worth it for me, though the app took a while to load the first time.

Needed a cheap way to read

I needed something to read on the train for my daily commute and buying the printed version every day was costing a fortune. The monthly plan works out well for the number of titles I get through, and the price is clearly lower than the shop. The only thing I'd like is a few more back issues available, but for the money it does the job.

About Pocketmags

Pocketmags is an online retailer and digital publisher that sells magazine subscriptions and single issues in digital format. Readers can access titles across a broad set of categories, including lifestyle, news, hobbies, technology and home interests, through its website and dedicated apps. The business is built around digital editions, which can be read on a range of tablets, smartphones and computers without the need for a physical delivery.

Its customers are readers who prefer to read magazines on screen, and the service allows them to keep a library of issues that can be opened at any time. The company also offers print subscriptions alongside its digital catalogue, and it sells gift subscriptions for those who wish to send a title to someone else.
