Picked up a single cask bottling from a distillery I've been following for years. Knew the bottling was limited so I ordered the moment it went live. Arrived well wrapped, label was exactly as shown, and the cask number matched the listing. Good to deal with people who know their stuff.
Read moreThe bottle that turned up had a label that was more faded than the photo suggested. I'd paid for something in better condition, and it took a couple of emails before anyone sorted it. The whisky itself is fine but I expected more for the money. Delivery was prompt.
Read moreOrdered a bottle of older Scotch from them for the first time last month, mostly because it was a closed distillery bottling I couldn't find anywhere else. The site was easy to search and the checkout took a minute. It came in a sturdy box and turned up two days later. The only thing I'd flag is the packaging was a bit more than I expected, but the bottle itself was exactly as described.
Read moreMy brother had been asking for a particular old bottling for his collection, so I went looking. I found it here at a sensible price and it arrived in good order. The only small bother was that the confirmation email took a while to come through, so I wasn't sure the order had gone in. It had, and he's thrilled with it.

Been buying from this shop for years and it still works out cheaper than the auction sites once you add their fees. Same bottle at a better price than I'd get elsewhere. Delivery's always been fine. Only grumble is the basket is a bit fiddly on the phone.
I used to buy from a local shop that stocked a narrower range, so this site compares well for choice. Prices are a touch higher than the auction houses but the descriptions are honest. Ordered a Highland malt and it was as described. A reliable place, I've been a customer a long while now.
Get it sorted, it's a decent shop. Bought a bottle for my mate's stag and it came in a day. Only thing is the checkout asked me to make an account first which was a bit annoying. Otherwise sound.
Bought the cask strength bottle for my dad's birthday and it arrived in good nick. Took a few days, which was fine. Dad was chuffed, said it's the best he's had in ages. Would order from the site again, probably for myself next time.
Looked at three or four other sites before picking here. What stood out was the tasting notes on each bottle, actually useful rather than marketing waffle. Ordered a Speyside and it matched what they said. Delivery was a day slower than promised but nothing to complain about.

Old & Rare Whisky is an online retailer of rare, collectable and older Scotch whisky, along with other spirits from distilleries around the world. The range centres on bottlings that are no longer easy to find, including discontinued expressions, independent bottlings and single casks from established and closed distilleries. The shop is aimed at collectors, investors and enthusiasts who want to build a considered collection rather than buy everyday bottles.
The business operates entirely online through its website, where each bottle is listed with details of its origin, age and bottling to help buyers judge what they are acquiring. Orders are shipped within the United Kingdom, and the company is known for its knowledgeable approach to sourcing and describing rare stock.
